    1911 Magazines

So when I got my SA Loaded it came with a coupon to get the 10 round single stack stainless mags at $19 as opposed to $28. I've seen different things around the forum but is this a good price? Are the SA mags good enough? I hear that wilson mags are the best but I have no idea why. I'm considering putting an ed brown mag well on my SA as well.

Also there are the .45 10 round single stack mags and the .45 10 round high capacity full-sixe mags. What's the difference?

    Let me know and thanks.

You can get 10 round metal form mags from cdnn for $12.99. A better mag, in my opinion.

I would stick with Wilson Combat mags. Just compare the feeder to your stock mag and you'll see what I mean, they are flawless. They are a little more expensive, but worth not having a jamming 1911. Just buy one or two at a time until you get the number you want. My two cents.

get the SA mags for the range, so if you lose one or one gets stolen, then no big deal. that is a great price for the "factory mags". i always like the "loaded coupons" from SA.

get WILSON for carry mode. you wont regret it.... trust us.

Wow, you've been using them for 5 years longer than they've been made... now that's impressive!

I love my Wilson mags... never an issue.

However, I just spent a weekend with Mec-gar 8 rnd mags and they pretty much rocked, no jams, no problems whatsoever.

I've been using ACT and Mec-gars almost exclusively now.

They do everything Wilsons do and cost less than 1/2.

CMC Powermags are pretty good too. You can usually find them on sale for about 19 bucks or so. CMC also makes 10 rounders.

This is the first thing I noticed when I got my WC ETM mags. It's like slicing a knife through warm butter.

And then there are my Glock 19 mags... but that deserves its own thread.

Where do you usually get these from?

So they are just as good as CM or wilson mags in your opinion.
I might just give these a try.

These are the ones I have. I paid a bit less, but they're still a decent deal here.

I like the ACTs a lot, too (Novak).

I'm hard on mags. If I had endless $ I'd be using Tripps or the EDM Wilsons, but it's not worth it to me.

I use CMCs and Wilsons, theyre all reliable but the Wilsons seem to drag a little more when I drop them out of the gun.

I prefer the Tripp Cobra mags to the Wilson's because Wilson has an all plastic follower, while Tripp uses metal for the skirt.

I also like the Checkmate Industries mags (they make OEM mags for Colt). The Checkmates come in various configurations and follower types, and are very well made - also very price competitive.
