Another +1 for the MecGar mags. They work outstanding!!It's better to have it, and not need it, then to need it, and not have it.

I use mostly Chip McCormick mags, 8 rd and 10 rd. They work flawlessly and I like the shape of the base pads which provide for clean and fast reloads. I have some Wilsons and they are just fine but pricey.

I'm not a fan of 10rd magazines for a 1911. I am however a fan of Chip McCormick mags in steel framed guns. I've found that they work as well or better than Wilson magazines in my pistols. I'm especially fond of their Power Mags but the match grade work really well to.
Midway is having a pretty good sale.

I just bought a bunch of 7 round Checkmate mags with the enhanced dimpled follower. My other novaks mag would stovepipe on the last round. All these new mags are flawless.
Great mags at a great price."Please use the comments to demonstrate your own ignorance, unfamiliarity with empirical data, ability to repeat discredited memes, and lack of respect for scientific knowledge. McCormick shooting stars or Wilsons. Nothing else. Why spend a grand or more on a 1911 and skimp on the weakest link in any auto pistols design? I'd hate to lose a match (or worse) because I cheaped out on magazines.sigpicComment

I use KimPro Tac mags in mine, but they don't make 10-round versions.
I do have a few CMC Power 10's that seem to work pretty well.
Your question about different magazines is somewhat confusing, as a 10-round mag is not considered "high-capacity." Perhaps you are referring to the Para-Ordnance/STI type guns, which run a wider frame in the grip to allow for a double-stack magazine, which can hold 14-rounds and sit flush w/the frame. Para offers "Limited Capacity" versions of several of its widebody guns in order to be sold in CA, and other states w/similar mag laws (10-rounds). Obviously, the two are NOT compatible. You've got a single-stack, so appropriate 10-round mags will stick out ~1" from beneath the frame of the gun. This is my sig line.Comment
