us3, glad to hear you found a PDP. What do you think of the PDP trigger now that you have had hands on it?
The trigger info is interesting. I'm running the stock trigger in a Q5 and it could be better. Walther is showing in stock right now on the trigger and it is tempting......Comment

I'm still in the 10 day waiting period on the PDP so I haven't really had a chance to try it, just pulled the trigger to remove the slide.
I pick it up on the 17th and will be able to compare it to the 3 other triggers then. I'll update once I have a chance to check it out.
The Apex is different than the stock and Dynamic trigger, I would still list it as a consideration along side the Dynamic. (it's got a better feel, is almost a pound less than the Dynamic and has a wide flat pad that I think makes it easier to manipulate)
Either trigger is an upgrade from stock, now to see if these little springs can drop a pound of pull weight.

Just coming from my own experience: I shot both the PPQ M1 and the M2 and would not have changed a thing. Test rode the Q5 SF and did not think the trigger is any better considering the price of admission. I jumped on a PDP without trying it and was shocked to find this ugly " plasticque", Looong pre-travel before the break. Not sure if it's just this particular sample since it was used but it did not look like it had high mileage or was abused.
Please let us know what you think of your new PDP comparing it to the Apex and Walther Dynamics upgrade. A little feedback before jumping into the $200 pool should I say?Comment

The Q5 SF "Black Ribbon" is the one that comes from the factory with the Dynamic Performance trigger, which is even better than a Q5 SF Expert trigger. Standard Q5 SF trigger does not compare to either.
Probably not available in the US because of stupid ATF import "sporting purpose" rules but who knows...
Yes the stock trigger in my PPQ M2 was very, very good, maybe the best factory trigger in any sub-$1k striker gun - but the Dynamic is even better.Last edited by SkyHawk; 01-09-2022, 4:56 PM.Comment

Correct, I called Walther and got laughed at when I asked to order one. I mentioned that someone showed me a picture of theirs and the Tech said "well, they imported it illegally".
I agree, the PPQ factory trigger is the best one by far and the Dynamic is for sure an upgrade. (along with the Apex, I keep bringing it up because it is very nice and a big improvement over stock as well)

Now you have me curious on the PDP. Some people say it's an upgrade to the PPQ but that may just be a rumor. The 5" PDP retails for $400 less than the Q5 so I don't see them putting more money into it with upgrades.Just coming from my own experience: I shot both the PPQ M1 and the M2 and would not have changed a thing. I'll update on the 17th when I pick it up the PDP and can try it next to the others.
Matt
Edit: the retail on the Q5 just went up in the last few days
PDP 5" $649
Q5 Match $1,049
Man, the Q5's just appreciated $150 bucks over nightLast edited by us3; 01-09-2022, 5:34 PM.Pistol: Sig Custom Works P320 AXG Classic + TXG Module + 500 Rounds of Ammo

I tried both Overwatch springs today (dry firing). The gauge says about 1/2 pound came off with the green and a full pound with the red. Ultimately I went with the green spring which gave me about 3.25lb to break the shot. But the takeup was noticeably lighter and the reset was still good.
The red spring still had OK reset but was down under 3lb to break the shot. I may try it on the range someday but I am going to start with the green spring.
And yes they left a bunch of paint chips in the frame

TLDR - Which would you recommend? And the setup? I see it is being used in the Q5 Match PF (Polymer Frame); would it work with the SF?I tried both Overwatch springs today (dry firing). Which what, spring or trigger?
Also, it seems the Q5 PF and SF use the same trigger from the factory but they are not the Dymamic triggers. However the Dynamic trigger will work in either. But note there is a modified takedown procedure for SF using the Dymanic trigger.Comment

Springs and trigger
Thanks

So far I like the Dynamic trigger with the green spring but the spring selection is just going to be a matter of personal preference. Some people may even like the stock spring and Dynamic trigger better.Comment

Thanks!
Time to go shopping... (Yeah, I missed getting the Python as per the other thread).

How many rounds do you have on the Dynamic trigger and have you done anything else to get that 3.25lb break? I assume the red spring had a less positive or softer reset.
I'm waiting to hit the range till I pick up the PDP next week. Looking forward to trying the Dynamic and then will probably look back into the springs. I like a lighter pull for the range.
Good info in the thread, thanks

I have not shot the gun or trigger yet. So the 3.25lb break is just from the Dynamic trigger system and the green spring.
The red spring did have a slightly softer reset but it was still acceptable.Comment
