If someone isn't equipped enough (mentally) to let up on the trigger finger when drawing the handgun and the trigger finger continues into the trigger guard that is the fault of only one person, the idiot with the loose trigger finger.

People were shooting themselves long before SIG produced the 320 and before there was anything remotely like the SERPA holster.

While the 320 arguably had a design issue, who drops their gun, unholsters any handgun without proper trigger finger control and then blames something or someone else because they can't figure it out and they shoot themselves? What clown of clowns would put any handgun into anything with other things and then think that is a good idea?

Lets see, I'll put my handgun into a fanny pack, man bag, purse, backpack, sack or maybe a pocket and then hey, there is some extra room so why not throw in the wallet, money clip, car keys, glasses, pen, knife, pepper spray and then see if there is room for the phone too?

The problem with the Sherpa holster is not the holster but how people incorrectly use it. The button is not supposed to be depressed with the tip of your trigger finger. You are to use the side of your finger as if you were keeping the trigger finger straight along the side of the frame.

If you forcefully press the button with the tip of your finger, your finger will end up on the trigger.

Yankee marshal is a clown for clowns so it's no surprise that he's being posted in this thread. A V1 Sig 320 is capable of firing if it gets bumped or dropped in a way it doesn't like, whether it's holstered or not, when the trigger isn't even being manipulated. This is why you can be getting out of a patrol vehicle and it goes off. This information is for the readers who don't have emotional attachments to "there isn't an issue but here's a voluntary upgrade" pistols:

When it comes to serpas, they are complete trash. Their finger release mechanism is prone for ND's as well as being able to have it easily jammed with debris to the point you can't get the gun out. Secondly, the plastic screws used to mount them to a duty belt are also garbage. There is a good reason why they are banned in multiple training facilities and departments. Trigger finger release mechanisms on a holster are just bad, bad, bad and there's no reason to not be using a 6xxx Safariland series for duty or something similar instead.

Barney Fife, transfer bar safety, loading 5, condition 3, series 70, Glock Leg, Cruiser Ready, Remington 700, magazine disconnect, loaded chamber indicator, and slamfires were all around long before the P320.

People have an amazing ability to defeat safety measures, long as they're allowed to keep blaming their accidents on inanimate objects, we'll keep getting more regulation and dumbed down equipment.

I like the P320, Glocks too, various revolvers, Remington 700s, 1911s, ARs, pump shotguns, gas powered chainsaws, CR500s, ATCs, tobacco pipes, and my Delta Unisaw that won't hesitate to take off my finger if I lose respect for it. If you don't like them, you're free to not own them. Quit blaming the equipment or we'll all end up carrying wooden guns talking about the good ol days.
