    Guns that Shoot 9mm Steel

Got an email form LGS getting lots of Ammo including
    9mm steel and brass.

So who makes a gun that shoots 9mm steel effectively?

Anyone around here fire steel out of their 9mm ?

I'm guessing you are asking about steel cased ammo.

Most guns will chamber and fire it. You'll need to check yours to see if it will chamber.

Though just because it chambers doesn't mean it will extract. I'm lucky all of the guns I've tried steel and aluminum cased ammo have functioned just fine.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

My point exactly. I was wondering if there was one that really ate up steel, without extraction problems. All my guns do not recommend steel ammo.

[QUOTE=naz;25825825]I’ve put cases of Tula 9mm steel through g34. Especially when I was new that’s what I took to multi day high round count classes[/

Bullseyes Bishop is receiving 9mm steel including 1000 rounds for 550. You might be interested.

In my limited experience, a Ruger PCC and a Glock 19 eat them like candy.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any manufacturer recommends steel case ammo.

I've used it in guns made all over the world. Try it, if it works great. If it doesn't, move on.

Ive fired 2k through a Cobray M11 full auto in one day. No case head separation. Ive had it with brass, though.

You're not "lucky", you're just like the rest of us.

It works in virtually every gun out there.

In addition to the usual (Russian) suspects like Wolf,, Tula, and others,, Winchester, Hornady, and other "reputable" ammo manufacturers make steel cased ammo. And millions of rounds are shot every year. It works fine. Only issue is you're not supposed to reload it (though I know of several people who do with no ill effects).

I’ve never had a gun that didn’t eat up steel case.

Which guns might that be? There is a difference between not recommending steel cased ammo and recommending against steel cased ammo. Same question comes up with aluminum cased ammo.

Example: Manufacturer recommends using high quality brass cased ammunition of the correct caliber.

                          Vs.

Manufacturer recommends not to use steel cased ammunition.

That doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't use it but rather they prefer you use brass cased stuff.

In an emergency, the High Point in your holster is better than the Wilson Combat in your safe.
