How to get marks off?

I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about superficial marks on run of the mill guns...

Something rare and valuable...sure; worry about it.

Everything else...just shoot it and keep it from rusting.

First off - that is an aluminum frame. Do not use Hoppes or any powder solvent on aluminum. That includes ARs etc. Use CLP only. I know people do it, but don't do it. The military says don't do it.

You could try a pencil eraser lightly and see if it pulls that up - otherwise just wipe the frame with some CLP and it wont look so bad. That may just be thin anodizing in those spots, and there is no rubbing away such a blem - you can only make it worse.

PS - it looks like those marks were not there in your first pics in the other thread, so what got splashed on to it?

My eyes are burning from the obvious blems written up and down that slide. Those would bother me way more.

Looks like a different gun skyhawk. The pic op posted has PB laser etched in the dust cover and no serial number on the slide....like the picture you posted.

That is not my same Beretta. That was a photo off of armslist. You can even see the serial on the slide on mine is in a different location than that one.

Yes I see that now, OP was not clear he was using lifted photos in the other thread. I guess now we have to wonder if this is another Armslist pic? If not, sad to see OPs also has the lawyer billboard. If my M9 that is inbound has that I am going to be pissed. That would bug me 1000x more than those two little blems.

Those marks are fine but if you drop it on the carpet it will be ruined.
