my Benitez goes to 11 -
Mine came with both G10 and the sandpaper. When did you get yours? Maybe Springfield is only sending with the G10 now?"1911 mag, twinkie, twinkie, cupcake, primary weapon mag"

Carried it for 4hrs at a time for the San Leandro Saturday night steel shoots about 10 years ago (so mostly empty unless I was on the firing line). You could definitely 'feel' it at the end of the night when we were done shooting.Great pistol OP, congratulations.
The TRP Operator is also a boat anchor. I saw someone above saying they carry it. I am at the high end of average sized human beings. Anyone who uses this as an EDC, has gotta' be the size of an NFL lineman. Or, they never actually walk any further than from their front door to the driveway. I've lived nearly my entire life without a car. I'm real accustomed to walking long distances and carrying heavy things while doing it. Carrying that weapon however is simply a 'no go' IMO.
Before you even think about carrying this OP, go do a three day training with it. If you do a three day training with that, you'll be feelin' it by the end of day two OP. Extensive training with full rail TRP Operator becomes quite the upper body workout.
Aside from some VZ Simonich Gunner grips, my half rail is stock. I can't bring myself to change anything, including the main spring housing lock. It just shoots that well. The front strap checkering does wear on my pinky finger after about 200 rounds, but it's minor.
My only complaint is I have misplaced the stock grips, which were very nice.Comment

Hmm...Perhaps, you were robbed. Mine came with sandpaper, factory installed and spare G10.

Do not buy this pistol.
The Springfield TRP OPERATOR is a gateway 1911. It will lead to a safe or two full.of 1911s and perhaps a few 2011s.
All kidding aside, great pistol. But it will lead to others.
Fair warning issued.Comment

There's one at my local gun shop & there's been at least 1-2 Pro's for sale hanging out in the Marketplace here.My Grail 1911 would be the Springfield Professional. One with and one without the half rail.
If the TRP half rail was on-roster, I would get that. But no joy. So I either go with the MC Operator or the Pro Half Rail. Or, maybe just move out of Ca. Then that opens up a ton more possibilities.

Congrats, I just cost you over $3k.
River City Gun Exchange has one or two....maybe more.

Originally they came with the sandpaper ones.....for a period of time, it appears Springfield switched to the gray & black G10....they're ok, but don't really ring my bell, and especially not compared to the sandpaper, which are just super unique & cool.
I believe current production TRP Operators are once again shipping with the proper, awesome, sandpaper grips.
Just my observations.Comment

I got both sets of grips on my 2018 version. The sandpapers are cool and ease up once you donate some skin cells to them.Originally they came with the sandpaper ones.....for a period of time, it appears Springfield switched to the gray & black G10....they're ok, but don't really ring my bell, and especially not compared to the sandpaper, which are just super unique & cool.

I love mine but to make it easier to take down replace the stock guide rod with the Dawson tool-less guide rod. I did and it and it makes it much easier to clean.
https://dawsonprecision.com/guiderod...son-precision/
I'll have to snag one.
This is the only negative thing I can say about the Operator is the FLGR is a **PAIN IN THE #$%** to disassemble.
This Dawson rod works great?
Will have to snag....Comment

See, I've only had bad luck with SS guns.
I had a Beretta 96 INOX (SS) 100% brand new.
First time out at the range (same range where i bought it) the slide stop sheared clean off - damn MIM part.

The range / shop was kind enough to give me the option of trading it in for another gun - so I traded it for a Desert Eagle which I still have.
My SS TRP just isn't great. Had some feeding / extraction issues. I need to send it into Springfield to get the Pro package or similar done to it.....
Otherwise, I love the TRP line. I have standard / black non-rail TRP that's an awesome beast too.Comment
