    Is it legal for a California Peace Officer to own a taurus judge???

        not unless you can get a CADOJ dangerous weapons permit for an SBS. A Taurus Judge is considered an SBS in CA.

                    With the proper paperwork, yes a LEO can own one here in CA.
                    Much like anything else though, there are hoops to jump through.

                    Does anybody remember the 410 revolver that was for sale in the mid 90's?

                            Taurus Judge: The gun the Pro Arms team refers to as "the bagel killer."
