-Pocket guns comparison-

I switched from a Kahr P380 to Glock 42 as G42 is much more shootable; its actually enjoyable to shoot. It is a bit larger/heavier than the P380 but fits ok in cargo short pockets. I use a kydex pocket holster for extra safety."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"Comment

How does a Shield 9mm compare to the Glock 42?Comment

RC3, thank you for the great pics and weights loaded.

I currently have a NAA Mini in .22 Magnum with a .22LR cylinder too.
I used to have the Mini in .22LR but sold it.
Yes it was smaller than the Magnum but it was very hard to control with Stingers or similar hot ammo.
With the old Mini in .22LR I did an informal test one day.
The target was an old Coca Cola glass bottle, the thick walled type at about 10 feet distance.
A .22 Short RNL round bounced off the bottle and the bullet landed back at my feet.
No damage to the bottle besides a small mark where the bullet hit.
A .22 LR RNL standard velocity cracked the bottle and knocked it over but did not break the bottle.
A .22LR Stinger completely destroyed the bottle, but even with a tight grip the gun rotated up in my hand.
There's a lesson in needed velocity and handling control to be had here.
The .22 Short really doesn't have a lot of speed to it and the short barrels of the Minis makes it worse.
That's why I ended up with the Mag version plus the LR cylinder, it's easier to shoot with the slightly larger grip and packs lots more punch while still being able to plink with .22LR or whatever.
The Mag is still small enough to easily fit in a pocket.Last edited by ojisan; 02-11-2020, 7:32 PM.

The locally (Provo) made NAA .22 WMR in a kydex neck holster... Speer Gold Dot .22 WMR 40 grain short barrel ammo. 1,000+ fps. Doesn't keyhole.
Pocket: Kimber Micro Carry. Desanti.Comment

Even with pocket pistols, there is a significant difference in size and weight. My Sig P238 is significantly larger and heavier than my Kahr P389, yet it is the one I carry daily in my front pocket in a DeSantis holster.
You do not necessarily want the smallest or lightest pistol for pocket carry.Comment

I mostly pocket carry (LCP). Never have to worry about printing, bending over, shirt riding up, etc.
I like IWB @ 330, but I am paranoid about being exposed when sitting, bending over, reaching up, wind blowing, chasing my kid, on and on.
Need to lose about 10-15lbs for appendix to be comfortable.Comment
