    Why a 45 LC?

    I have 44mag, .38, .357, 45acp & 10mm.

    What's the draw....just one more?

      Yes! Because you can!

Plus the historical element of it. 45 Colt can be loaded very mild or quite heavy. I enjoy loading for .45Colt more than any of my other calibers.

I see nothing a .45LC can do that I can't accomplish with my 44.mag. I see no reason to buy another set of dies and brass to support a caliber that brings nothing that I already don't have.

That all said, go for it if you want - it just seems a bit redundant to me.

            Why a .45 Long Colt???

Well, it is stronger than your 44mag for one ...

John Linebaugh explains it very well in his writings on the 45 colt loads.

Since you reload you are aware that .44 Mag is really .43, right?

Looks like you need a .454 Casull.

Actually, there is no such round as a .45LC, there is .45 Colt and .45 ACP. I have three that will shoot .45 Colt, a NM Vaquero, a S*W 625-5Ppower Port Lew Horton Special, and a Ruger Super Alaskan in .454 Casull. You can load them mild or wild and they are just a fun round.

I am in a similar situation, except no 10mm but a .41 Mag. I went ahead and got a Lipsey's Ruger Flat Top .45 convertible. Just because I wanted one.
