Sig Sauer SP2022

Man, I bought a used SP2022 in 9mm. This thing is awesome! Super accurate, good balance of size and weight. Positive and short sear reset, that’s a little odd with two quick clicks but I was used to it in one magazine.

I know these things don’t seem to be too popular, based on holster and sight availability. I assume Sig’s having rebranded them multiple times from the 2340/2309 to the Sig Pro to the 2022 is also indicative of bad sales, but don’t be afraid. If you get a chance to buy one of these for a good price used I’d jump on it. Heck, I’d probably buy one new I like it so much.

There were some changes on the way to SP2022. The big one is gaining a regular rail, instead of the strange, rebated rail on the original models.

Had nothing to do with sales. When they won the French contract the gun had to be good for 20 years. That was in 2002. Hence 2022.

great gun....saw a ton of them carried in France. I had Mr. Bruce Gray install new sights (front fiberoptic) and further optimize the trigger. That pistol is absolutely one of the most accurate pistols i own and it's been incredibly reliable.

Noticed the 9mm SP2022 pop up all the time as a good first handgun.
Always had a problem with "plastic"
One day at the range decided to rent one and it was a natural fit for me.
Had the same experience as you and wanted one.
Waited and looked on used market and picked one up.
$300 to $400 crazy low price in my opinion.

I liked mine when I had it. Nice trigger, nice gun. If I remember right, the field strip is a little more of a pain, but other than that it's good. I sold it to down size, but now where I'm at, I wish I still had my 2022 and P6.

I have had one ever since the Sig Pro came one. The most underrated pistol period. I put Night Fusion sights and a plus 2 mag extension during freedom week. Hard to beat! It's a workhorse.

Most under rated handgun in existence. Blows away a Glock. Seems easier to shoot than my Berretta. Great magazines and cheap but not as cheap as old military 92 mags.

Easy takedown. Clean lines. I like it way better than the 226.

My 9mm SP2022 was my first handgun. Despite having expanded my choices to M&Ps, PPQs, VP9, P320C, and some other hammer fired pistols, my SP2022 stands watch in my nightstand.

And yes, the Freedom Week mags are AWESOME!!
