Well maybe a bit, but if I'm not mistaken, Chris Pratt/Josh Faraday brought it back for a bit in the 2016 version of The Magnificent Seven. Not as good as the original, but not a bad movie either.
To answer the OP's question, I believe a single shot exemption will still work for one. It's not a semi-auto, and it is technically a type of bolt action anyway since the bolt is manipulated by the user, just not in the same fashion we associate with a bolt action. The trick will be finding a dealer who will work with you on it.Last edited by P5Ret; 06-13-2019, 2:36 PM.Comment

Unlike other bounty hunters, Randall had scruples. He tried to bring the prisoner in alive and often found himself called upon to protect people in need. He often donates his earnings to the needy and helps his prisoners if they have been wrongly accused. Josh Randall carries a shortened Winchester Model 1892 carbine called the "Mare's Leg" in a holster patterned after "gunslinger" rigs then popular in movies and television. Randall can draw and fire his weapon with blazing speed. Three Mare's Legs were used in the series, differing in the shape of the lever and the barrel. Although Randall is a bounty hunter, he doesn't chase and capture only men on wanted posters. He also settles a family feud, frees unjustly jailed or sentenced men, helps an amnesia victim recover his memory, and finds missing husbands, sons, fathers, a fiancée, a suitor, a daughter who had been captured many years earlier by Indians, an Army deserter, a pet sheep, and even Santa Claus. This variety, as well as his pursuit of justice and not just money, contributed to the show's attraction and popularity. Except for a few episodes at the beginning of the series, Randall rode a horse named Ringo. Several episodes in 1960 included a sidekick named Jason Nichols (Wright King), a deputy sheriff turned bounty hunter. He and Randall worked well together on-screen, sharing a chemistry audiences enjoyed. By the start of the third season, Nichols had been dropped. The episode called "The Partners", where Nichols killed three men that Randall felt could have been taken alive, is often considered the episode that broke up the partnership, although that was actually only the second episode with Wright King and long before the last episode he appeared in. The black-and-white program was a spin-off of a March 1958 episode of Trackdown, a 1957–59 western series starring Robert Culp.

There were some dealers transferring these as single shot lever actuated bolt action pistols. Not sure if they still are.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Not sure what caliber your looking for. I have a mare's leg in 22lr, and it is an incredibly enjoyable piece. Great think about tube fed 22lr, is you can shoot other length cartridges easily. That includes 22 shorts which I know are uncommon, but better than that are shooting the CB quiets, or super calibri rounds which are powderless and quieter that a pellet gun. Regardless, in any caliber, the mares leg is a fun pistolComment
