    CCW Dream Question

    Hi, everyone.

If you could have (or have) a CCW, and could carry any gun, irrespective of the roster, what would you pick and why? Curious as to reasons why.

I was just reading here about someone shooting someone's Wilson EDC and started thinking about it...

    Thanks,
    Keith

Glock 19 with freedom week magazines.

Perfect size and capacity for me

Right now, I’m totally satisfied with my 12+1 Glock 26.....small, relatively lightweight, solid feel, reliable, accurate, shoot it well.

My other CCW is a Glock 30S....10+1 of 45acp in a small package.

If I changed, it’d probably be a G19, a Canik TP9 Elite, or similar polymer gun....higher capacity, but those are bigger to conceal.

Personally would never carry a 1911, an all-metal gun, a full-size, anything over $1000 (as it’s just not necessary), or a sub-10 rounder.

Ideally for me a Sig P365 12+1. I'm just unwilling to pay for one.

            1. Dan Wesson CBOB (.45)
            2. CZ PCR (9mm 14 rounds)
            3. CZ RAMI (9mm pocket carry)

They’re all on the roster, so they’re more than just a dream.

So you’re asking what off-roster gun I’d like to carry? (You act like CCW doesn’t exist in CA)
Sadly, something as mundane as a G43 would be near damn perfect for me.

Sig 238 (Off roster, no mag disconnect)
                    Glock 19
Shield (Off roster, no mag disconnect) <--- this one could easily be replaced on my list by a 938 or an XDs, but I have no reason at this point to pay the premium prices that people are asking for them so here we are.

I've added and deleted multiple guns off my CCW over the years but I'm pretty content with what I have now.

                        FNX 45 (15rds)
Glock 20 (20rds with mag extension)
                        Glock 19 (15rds)
                        Shield 9

The only one I'd take off is the Shield and add a Sig P365 if I get one for a decent price. They're the same size but can hold more rounds.

After moving from a no-issue CA county to WA state I settled on a Glock 42 (7+1 380 with +1 basepads) as my EDC for the last 3 years. I live a low-risk, retired life and prefer absolute concealment with a 380 to a larger-capacity or larger-caliber gun. If I'm in the woods I may go with a 12+1 G26, but never in town.

Yeah I just applied. I'm pretty sure I won't get it, but I'm in that dreamy state where it hasn't yet been denied. I actually have a good reason why it could possibly be approved, but I'm in that state where you bought the lotto ticket and you're thinking of what you would do with the millions, but before the draw and you realize you didn't win anything.

I was just reading about the Wilson EDC X9 and it looks amazing. I have a Glock I think 34. It's obviously too big for EDC but it used to shoot reliably, more recently it jams a lot. Probably because I haven't cleaned it in forever and it's really dry. I haven't taken it out in a long time and I just have to get around to cleaning it and lubing it.
