586 if you can find a pre-lock model in good shape. Check revolver very thoroughly using feeler gauges. It may take a while so if a SP-01 comes up for a good price first snag it and keep looking for that early pre-mim 586.

I have an sp-01 that I sent to CZC to have the trigger and internals done. It was crap before. I called them after I received it and complained how non crisp, non existent the trigger release was.
They asked what I was comparing it to. Of course I have a 9 mm 1911. That's what I compared it to.
They said, and I quote, " your CZ will never have a trigger as crisp as a 1911" . They were very truthful and very correct.
Cz's are....ok. Compared to alot of 9mms . But nothing like a 1911 or a revolver. Not a refined crisp break in the trigger.
So if you had to have an all metal 9mm, I would say 1911 or nothing.
Among the choices you mentioned; my choice would be the revolver.Comment

If you have 9mm already and no 357 you should get that first. With an accompanying lever action. I say that as a huge cz fanboy. You're getting both anyway so not adding another 9mm to the stable won't hurt you.Just a libertarian guy in a Leftist Authoritarian state.

All revolvers are way more fun when you reload, I agree 50ae would be the financial place to start, and it would make your 629 infinitely more fun too, and if you do get an x-frame it opens that up as well, love my 460!
Also, my kid brought that bacon soda home once..never again

I concur^This. I have both. Because you don't have an all metal 9mm, you must add it to your collection. Reason is that it will be so must more pleasant & fun to shoot compared to polymer 9mms. On the other hand, you must add a .357 revolver, because you don't have one & you can shoot .38 specials thru it also!
Only drawback is .357 ammo is more expensive than 9mm. If you have the funds, get both! If you have too many polymer 9mms and funds are tight, sell a polymer 9mm and get an all metal 9mm. I find that a lot of my polymer pistols are pretty redundant.Comment

I'm going with: both.
Have a Ruger .357 and a SP-01. Both are a good time to shoot.
Ammo for the CZ will be cheaper. You aren't going to find factory .357 ammo in stock in CA for a reasonable price. You will have to ship and pay the extras. You can shoot .38 spcl in a .357, but it will be dirty.Comment

With luck, house will be done late June. Then, new firearm to celebrate.
