lol, heretic. That's a bolt pistol, not a heavy bolter. The Machine Spirit is displeased.

... uh, back on topic, I'd vote for whichever you're most competent with

Yeah but I also specified DA/SA or striker fired. I dont like SAO guns for HD. Just my personal preference.

I have 2 essentially stock G19s for HD. Upgraded sights but that's it. One that my wife has easy access to, and the other that I conceal carry during the day and leave on my nightstand at night. KISS.

Thanks for all the responses! Interesting points made by all.

I'm most comfortable with my G19 as I've had it the longest and have shot it the most with 100% reliability. My main concern with my Glock is the point KevinA made and I'm surprised nobody else has brought it up yet..

I've heard plenty of people talk about modified guns "not looking good in court" but have yet to see or hear of an incident where someone received a harsher sentence because they used a modified gun to protect themselves..
Does anyone have any proof to this or is it just FUD?

I just don't get those guys who thinks wheel guns are the absolute choice of guns to choose in a desperate situation. It is not. If it is, entire military and LE should have carry wheels. They do have some choices, you know.

I'm pretty sure I am not the only guy who's seen wheel guns break. Yep, surprising, isn't it? They break, too.

How about that, huh? Less capacity, lousy trigger pull, and also breaks.

Some one said it's simple to operate. Point and shoot. Really? You're saying you too dumb to rack and shoot a striker fire pistol? You really need a manual for a Glock???

Here are my list of when the wheel guns are superior than semi.

                  1. For those who REALLY have trouble operating a semi, like manipulating the slide. I've seen elders and women really had trouble getting it ready.

                  2. Hunting or woods gun. Those magnum rounds are massive coming out of the wheel guns.

                  3. Pleasure and leisure. I really enjoy shooting 45 Colt.

                  4. That blabbermouth who calls himself The Yankee Marshal. The True Youtube Warrior. (A good man though)

And please don't try to tell me it's different under the situation and real life field and so on. Because, I do have experience with the real life situation and wheel guns sucked REAL BIG. Almost got me killed. So, there.

Correct, but did most of them bring it up for the "reliability" factor, or the question about the gun not looking good in court?

Dude, at 3:00 AM in the dark bolting awake with a solid jolt of adrenaline and fear? Hell yeah my ability is compromised - and I won’t get into my (lack of) abilities in daylight and warmed up... DA revolvers are second nature to me; pistols are still not quite burned into my psyche yet.

Wow really? If it's not too personal/traumatic, can you tell us what happened or a link to a story you may have posted? It's fine to say no, just asking.

Hmmm, it says "Guci" on it and it's clearly a knock off from Hong Kong.

I'm embarassed. I bought the FAS1 safe like 5 years ago and I've yet to bolt it to anything in my bedroom. I bought it specifically for a Glock 17 with attached light. So it was also my choice (both the safe and the gun) for home defense.
