Stock Glock sights suck. Any recommendations?

5.5lb trigger pull feels a tad heavy where I'm slightly yanking it. My chance to make it 4.5lbs?

The Glock Purists suggest a "1000 Round Trigger Job". Between 300 and 400 rounds down range you will notice a difference and you will master the Glock trigger. The Glock 34 comes with 4.5# trigger, BTW.

my glock has OEM night sights and while they shine bright, i dont love them. I did an IDPA class and found that since all the sights were the same color/style dot, i lost the front sight when shootiong quickly. The instructors pistol had FO sights with different color front sight (from the rears) and it really made it pop and easy to get a good sight picture. just my .02

So iv currently have Truglo TFXs on my Walther ppq, and Trijicon HDs on my g19 in yellow. I had HD's on my g26 in orange a few years back. I am consistently faster and more accurate with the HD's on my 19. I also like the blacked out rears. It really draws the attention to the front yellow post. But that really is personal preference.

As far as triggers I have used only used the Apex with the firing pin safety plunger and their spring, and the Zev. The Apex about 1 lb lighter but still has a distinct wall, and crisp audible reset.

The Zev was the Zev Pro Ultimate kit. So it was a comp trigger and just ****in sweet. But not an HD trigger.

But I keep coming back to my G19, with yellow HDs, and Apex trigger for my EDC and weekend plinking.

I don't much care for tritium or 3 dot sights. I'd go for fiber optic or blacked out Dawsons.

Trigger leave alone or go with a Glock - "minus" connector if you want to mess with it.

I’ve shot stock sights for a long time on a g17 and g22 I used to have. Eventually went glock night sights since I found them cheap on another forum many moons ago.

My current setup with any Glock is a blacked out rear sight and a Dawson front red fiber optic. Helps my older eyes see my front sight. Not so useful at night but I’m in the camp of identifying targets before firing so that involves a handheld light or weapon mounted light where the fo front will still work as a standard sight minus the glowing red fiber.

Some people swear by night sights. I just find them too busy where my eyes start dancing around with the three dots. But definitely with a Glock a good set of steel sights would be recommended. Ameriglo is a good inexpensive sight set. Night fission I believe is one that people seem to like as well.

I tend to use 10-8 rear with Dawson fronts. The same that I use on my 1911’s unless they are cut for bomars


Triggers are another subject all together I use just the minus connector from a g34/35. But went a bit crazy with a g19 I have recently purchased and got an overwatch trigger. It’s nice but I still like the stock trigger with “-“ bar. Wish I didn’t drink the trigger koolaid bowl. Shoot it stock I know it’s very tempting to put upgrades in it. Also be weary with a lot of aftermarket triggers some disengage the Glock built in safeties to achieve a light trigger. Hence the competition only use

Dawson fiber sights for me and changed out the trigger shoe to an Apex, glock minus bar, everything else is stock. Easier to be consistent and accurate with the Apex shoe on the first shot. I put over 2k rounds with it stock trigger.

I had Wilson/Vickers I dot tritium sights but they went dim after a yr. POS stuff. Fibers rule, have them on other guns as well.

2x 1911s here myself. Great triggers, great Fiber Sights, so I am spoiled. I wanted a polymer gun to round it out, and the best yin to the yang was Glock for me .

Trying to get better with it and use it more.

What do you guys think of Haley's sights? Can get them for $128 shipped. The others cost more than ideal.

I shoot my Glock and 1911s every trip to the range. I love them both. I would concur with the road you're going down, that sight and trigger upgrades would be helpful. Have you thought about an RMR? A built up RMR slide would be the best so you can preserve the stock slide. The benefits of an RMR...you can look up the numerous discussions on many forums. I feel like the RMR is so great for all around shooting...and for dry firing it is especially great. You can clearly see if you start pulling low and left, especially when taking follow up shots.

Getting back to the glock sights, I think a Dawson fiber optic front and plain black rear is the way to go. The Wilson Combat glock sights look good too, although I haven't tried them yet. For trigger, I went from stock to SSVI to Suarez. I'm satisfied with the Suarez trigger. But lets be real, like everyone says, no glock trigger can ever be a 1911 trigger...I stopped trying to compare and contrast them and just moved on to just enjoying shooting each gun for what it is.

For me, in a dark indoor range, I can shoot better on my 1911 than my rmr glock. From close in out to 25 yards the 1911 shoots better. But in a SHTF situation, I would be holding the glock w/rmr and light all the way.

I think its great you're rounding it out and adding the glock to the stable with the 1911s.

I've tried Ameriglo's on both my Glocks (3 dot, and Hackathorns), the 19 with the 3 dots now having them for almost a year. They're still plenty bright, but not having any others nearby I can't really say if they're brighter or better in any way. For me they're metal, were easy to install, and shine bright enough at night that I'm happy. The price was a nice plus.

As for the trigger, the 19 is so-so. It did wear in pretty nice after a couple thousand rounds. I don't have any complaints now. Could it be better? Sure. But I'm not shooting competitively and it works fine for my uses. YMMV. I'd run a couple thousand rounds through it before decided on any changes. Maybe it smooths out, or maybe you just get used to it as is.

Truthfully, I normally go with whichever night sights I find on sale from the major brands. Meprolight and Tru Glo seem to be the ones I end up with the most often. The only other modifications I do are a Zev trigger spring and an extended slide release lever. Pretty much everything else stays stock.
