Be careful about shooting +p ammo in your 3rd gen smiths. I worked for an agency that carried 6906’s for a couple decades. I personally love them, accurate and fast shooting. We had four different 6906’s crack frames. After a thorough review SW told us it was due to our use of +p ammo, and that the guns were designed as +p rated but couldn’t stand up to a lot of it.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

S&W 3rd Gen 59 and 69 series are excellent pistols. You want to shoot +p ammo get an all stainless 5906 or TSW. The aluminum frame of the 6906 and the lighter mass of the slide is just too much for +p ammo.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Wish I had my 1006 back - the only pistol I ever regret selling.

                6904

Nice 3rd generation S&W collection. I have a 6904 with Novak sights. And a round trigger guard. I wonder what year it is?

I love my 669. I carried it as my back up gun and off duty carry for years. The first time I shot it I shot expert (275+/300) with it. That first score was a 284/300 at 25 yards. It’s still one of my favorite guns to shoot.

I highly recommend stocking up on parts and magazines for most of these while you still can. They aren't going to get easier to find as time passes S&W seems to offer little in the way of support for them these days.

Magazines at least full capacity ones for the 4006 and 5906 types aren't too hard to find or expensive but for the models like the 10mm versions they are getting scarce and pricey.

Even ones for like the 3913 types aren't exactly at every gun shop and bargain priced.

                          I have the 1006, 1026, 1066, 1076, and 1086. I just need to find the 1046 to complete my 10mm collection.

                              I have a 5906tsw but wouldn’t mind owing a regular 5906 as well.
