      Yes, the lock activated during a range session with my 625. It only did it one time and I am not sure why. I am not sure how the lock design has changed over time. My gun was a 2006-8 625.

      Michael Bane mentioned it on his podcast...oh...200-300 episodes ago. It is reasonably repeatable (meaning you can get it to do it something like 10-20% of the time) with the following formula:

      1) Lightweight frame
      2) Heavy bullet weight
      3) Hot or max load

      My current 629-6 has not done it even on hot-ish loads. It is a much newer gun purchased within the last three years.

        I've had a great experience with the lock. It has saved me a fortune because I won't buy any gun with an internal lock.
