    It's not about money.

As I understand it, guns that existed BEFORE the roster can pay to stay on the roster. New guns have to meet a set of criteria of firearm design that are currently impossible, which prevents them from being put on the roster.

aka Microstamping requirements, which was the last nail in the coffin for all gun manufacturers. LCI and magazine disconnect requirements also diverted manufacturers from pursuing business in CA

Not true. Some of the categories peace officers, who gained the privilege to buy off-roster guns may not sell it to the crowd.
However, LEO sales to the public are closely watched. No LEO would jeopardize his or her carrier over a small profit from off-roster sale.

it is not about money anymore.

microstamping makes it virtually impossible to get on the roster.

unless it is a single shot bolt action.

              No you're not correct.

OP there are other ways to get off roster handguns into Ca. To automatically assume that all the ad's are by LEO's is foolish, as I can not think of a single one I know that would risk his/her job to make a couple extra $$ on the side.

If they got rid of the Roster I'd go broke... I have several off-rosters PPT'd here in California. The roster just slows me down and saves me a bunch....

                    Vasken gourdikian says hi.

It's very clear that LEOs purchase with intent to sell. Most are just smarter than Mr. Gourdikian in how they go about that. For gun owners, it's a good thing. If they didn't, off roster prices would be even higher.

The majority of folks I've contacted about their freshly released pistols claimed they received via Interstate Intrafamilial. You wanna talk abuse of the exemption, I-I transfers are purely in it for profit. Yet, we also have several members of LE here who've sold their pistols for exactly what they got it for. I don't see any recognition to those folks.

Granted, I've also encountered folks who most likely used an exemption to acquire the firearms. Many of these folks are simply clueless to the laws involved. These folks are so used to their exemptions that they have no idea what the laws are. I can think of a particularly large CA agency's employees who legitimately and unknowingly commit firearms crimes.

Even with the new law in place regarding LE selling off rosters, umm do you really think anyone would enforce that law on their own brethren, laughable at best.

I’m just ranting because I’m currently stuck in this god forsaken state due to personal ties. But the fact that this place hasn’t gone completely nuts is beyond me.

“Hey let’s raise your taxes to provide more services to those who don’t deserve it and not take care of any of the things that need to be done, oh and by the way you don’t get to enjoy any benefits of living here because you’re not in the privileged category and you don’t check any boxes so piss on ya as well.”

IIRC there is a case challenging the roster headed to the SCOTUS where we have the best chance in recent history that it will be heard now that the court isnt packed with spineless POS cowardly traitors. Thanks Trump.

Given how the roster has had such a huge negative impact on the availability of basic firearms in common usage to CA residents, it looks like pretty much a slam dunk for any attorney fresh out of nightschool to win.

I wouldnt be surprised if the roster is struck down or at least seriously revised in the coming years.

Thank you for helping me improve my experience and direct my attention towards those who are worthy of it. God bless your toxic little souls.

                              wishful thinking.
