My old style RIA Tactical, with spare slide and 9mm barrel, and spare 38 Super barrel. I've upgraded it with white dot sights as the black on black was getting a little hard for my eyes to deal with.Last edited by Sailormilan2; 03-05-2020, 5:40 AM.Comment

No, there are only two 9mm 1911s on the roster, one by Springfield, one by Kimber.
RIA does have a GI version .38 Super 1911 on the roster though, and you can convert that to 9mm if you want. Requires some stuff (barrel, extractor, magazines), and you get the crappy GI sights though.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

I have a 2010 RIA Tactical. It was my first 1911. Trigger is easily the equal of several SA I've tried.
I have since acquired a few more "better" 1911s but haven't sold the RIA.

Correct , they are both SS and have adjustable rear sights (target model).

You won't need an extractor. The difference between the two rims is small enough that a new extractor is not needed. Though, the existing extractor may need some tweaking. 9mm will usually work just fine out of a 38Super magazine.
Starting with a 38Super and converting to 9mm is slightly easier, and a bit cheaper than going the other way.
Even a "drop in" barrel will usually need to have the hood length fitted(not hard to do) and finish reamed(also not hard to do).
One can often find RIA 9mm/38S slides on eBay with the Novak sight cut, which makes it easier to replace the sights. Even going to an adjustable one.Comment

Post some pics OP!
I'm always interested in 1911 pistols, let see it.
Are the RIA 1911s based on a Colt Series '70? Or the Colt Series '80 MKIVs?U.S. Army/Sgt./67N (Aviation/1st CAV DIV, FT. HOOD/2nd INF DIV, S. KOREA/NTC FLT DET, FT. IRWIN) Veteran '81-'86Comment

Wait, am I still on Calguns? So much love for the RIA???
I have a tactical like Sailormilan2 above. Had mine since 2013 when it was still on roster. Shoots pretty much everything out of both cheap and pricey mags too.My Marketplace Feedback: https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...k#post54003245Comment
