RIA 1911

Been shooting my RIA tac 5 1911 for about three years now.Glad i paid no attention to the naysayers. It is the only 1911 i have owned but i have shot many of the high priced 1911s out their.
It is very reliable and shoots whatever ammo i feed it. Including steel case TULA and my gun show re loads. Also it is not picky over what magazines i use in it.
I clean it everytime i shoot it and have not found any unusual wear taking place. It has a light precise trigger.
For 500 dollars it has most of the up grades you would want in a 1911. I did replace the standard grips with nice rosewood dbl diamond replacements.
The last time out at the range i shot the best groups ever from it.
The finish is holding up very well and i treat it like it cost much more.

Congrats OP. More and more, RIAs are getting the attention. I don't own any RIAs but from browsing several LGS that have them, the fitting and finish are really good.

The fit on the slide is smooth ,no rattle. For 500 bucks you get.

The current on-Roster version of the RIA 1911 Tactical is the Taylor's Tactical 1911.
^They are both made by Armscor Precision. RIA is just a brand name for a specific line of Armscor 1911s.

I belive the Citadel may be the newest incarnation of the RIA 1911 Tactical and Taylor Tactical 1911.

Turner's replaced the Taylor Tactical 1911 with the Citadel 1911 in their inventory system around Q2 2018.

Iv been trying to find a RIA FS Tac Ultra In .45.. seems like a perfect 1911 to me

I’m probably get flamed but the only thing that turns me off about the citadel is the ambi-safety - it just bugs me, like it’s not supposed to be there! I’ll likely grab a GI this year and then complain how it doesn’t have the whistles and bells.

Buy the one you really want and just replace the safety it's not that difficult. I have 3 RI tactical ultras FS 45, MS 9mm, CS 9mm and they are all good shooters.

I have to mention here that Armscor opened two factories in the US. One in Pahrump Nevada and another in Montana. The company as well as the CEO always can be seen present at SHOT shows for several years now. I think this is a good thing for us customers. It shows commitment.

I have never owned a RIA handgun before, I may have to buy one. Only thing is, the slim pickings for the California approved models.

The RIA 1911 FS GI, the basic/cheapest model , paid $450 new. After I did the trigger mod. by myself to 3# this RIA 1911 see more range time than ALL of my others 1911. (until I brought home the HK USP Elite).

I got the tac 5 because i liked the upgrades for little money over the basic GI model. It pretty much looks like a nice GI model but has the bells and whistles.
I do not feel the need to change anything .
I knew i would never spend the money on a domestic 1911 and took a gamble that what i herd about RIA was true..Like any product some will have problems. A friend bought the RIA GI model after shooting my 1911 and he also has had good luck with it.
bottem line Armcore cares about its customers and product.
