so i was browsing the xdtalk forums today and came across a thread about a guy in socal purchasing a xd that only shipped with one mag. the xdt member stated that when he went into antioch armory and purchased a xd it only came with one mag, and that clerk told him that SA was only shipping 1 mag with the guns because they could not keep up with customer demand.

any how i call major BS so if anyone has dealings with this shop please chime in. and if you have been screwed by this shop in the past let us know about what happened.

That is total BS! ALL XD's ship with the XD kit (2 mags, holster, speed loader etc..) It sounds to me like someone is trying to take advantage of the "shortage"

I JUST picked one up (from an honest dealer), and it had two mags. (It was a .45ACP if it matters.)

I know that Sig started the 1 Mag deal with all new purchases. I didnt know Springfield was doing the same?

All the new Sigs ship with 1 mag now, so it is a possibility.

heck.. back in the late 80's early 90's Glock WAS shipping their guns with 2 mags.. a LOT of shops were taking out one mag and seling the gun with only 1 mag...

I bought a new Ruger 10/22 from a local shop and, because it's california, they wouldn't let me take it home until I bought a trigger lock. I thought they were jerking me around so I went to Big-5 and bought their cheapest lock. After I had the 10/22 for awhile I found out that Ruger ships their new guns with Ruger trigger locks. So what happened to the one that was supposed to be in my box?

I think that is the story with all Ruger Locks.

That's possible, but I purchased both my Mini-14 and 10/22 from the same shop, w/in the last 2.5 years, and both came w/the Ruger lock. I was not required to buy any other lock. My buddy bought his M77 and it came w/the Ruger lock as well.

Flintlock Tom, methinks you got screwed out of a very nice Ruger padlock. Did you get the black metal locking bracket doohickey?

i just got a new G-19 and it only came with 1 mag. I was surprised since 6 months prior...they came with 2 mags. Maybe they still are supposed to?

Anyway, I'll know to ask for a refund before I take delivery next time. And I 'll remember which shop it was.

All my pistols came with 2 mags with the exception of my RIA in 38 Super. That only came with 1 for some reason. But yeah, I always received 2 mags with any Springfield purchase and every XD I've seen always had 2 in the box with the XD Gear.

Just remember if the gun store advertises it as coming with only one mag and you agree to purchse, that is on you. I agree that it sounds like the store is removing a mag and selling the pistol short, however, that is their right. The easiest thing to do is call up Springfield and ask them if that is true. If it isn't then, I would ask for an extra magazine or a $30 discount. If the shop says no, then decide if the pistol is worth it or not.

I would say on the principle of the matter I wouldn't buy from them, but seriously, is there a principle here? Aren't dealers free to buy and sell products as they choose? Do you have a right to get two magazines with a pistol or can the dealer take that inventory and sell it however they want?

Heck, I sold some XD .40s the other day with no magazines. The only pistols I could find were large caps and I still can't find any ten round magazines. The guy eventually found some ten rounders at Valley Gun and so I refunded him my cost on two magazines.

Hi, I signed up to respond to this..
There was no advertisment or notifacation that only one mag came with the gun. It was not until the paperwork was filled out and they were running my credit card that I noticed only one mag in the box. When I brought it to the attention of the salesman he told me they were being sent out with only one mag because the magazine manufacturer could not keep up with demand. Believing that was the truth I completed the sale.
Later on I posted the question on XDtalk and found out that XD's were shipping with two mags. I verified by calling Springfield customer support that all XD's are shipped with two mags (even to California).

Anyway, Springfield is investigating the issue and they are sending me a replacement mag for the one I didn't get from the dealer. Big props to them and their excellent customer support.

What's this rumor with Antioch Armory...?

Was over at the xdtalk forums and saw a guy that stated he bought a new 4" XD and was told that Springfield is only selling 1 mag with new CA XDs...

Has anyone over here heard of this at all? I just got an XD 9 in March (not from Antioch Armory) and mine came with 2 mags...sounds really sketchy to me.

I was looking at a sub-compact from there around February and they stated that the XDs came with 2 mags. Wonder what changed...?
