CADOJ changed the caliber listing yesterday afternoon. It no longer says "multi." (They probably realized it was a clerical error anyhow.) The roster still shows the two pistols with ambiguous descriptions. I will try to constructively work to clear that up with CADOJ.

I bought the new CA7 that comes with a magpul 10 rnd mag today and I noticed on the DROS under the Firearm category it said Single Shot. Is this normally how it's categorized on the DROS or was it supposed to be bolt action repeater? Any info on this?Comment

Some of you may notice that we got a second pistol on the roster today. The reason we had to do this was that our magazine supplier was not able to deliver reliably. Consequently, we retested the same gun with a Magpul 10 round Pmag. We had to do this by law since selling it with a different magazine was not legal unless we retested the gun.
I am now working with CADOJ to see if they can show one listing with two viable magazines (one steel and one Pmag,) but we will see what they say. I am certain that it would be a lot less confusing for everyone if they concede, but they may not. The other interesting thing is that they noted the caliber on the new listing as "multi." I highly suspect that this listing will be changing in the near future anyhow. Either way, you may want to get your order in now!
Going forward, we will ship the CA7 with a 10 round Pmag standard. The steel 10/20 magazine will be a substitute standard as the need may arise.
By the way, I have to mention that there are a lot of headaches trying to get this stuff retested, and it isn't cheap. We know that our firearms are not cheap to begin with especially since they are 100% American made. These additional costs were definitely the icing on the cake! Even so, the price is not going up for the CA7.
maybe the simpler way would have been to sell this without a magazine included?
or does CADOJ demand a magazine be provided?Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... In addition to the above considerations, alterations of a single shot pistol (i.e. changing upper receivers, connecting gas tubes) may also be considered manufacturing an unsafe handgun.

Just checked my DROS.
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ QuietComment
