That has been brought up in the thread 100 times, but the answer is that there is not any section of law that we are aware of that would preclude one from doing so. In other words, we are not aware of a law that would preclude you from modifying your drop tested firearms whence you get them out of jail. (...so long as you do not break any other known law.) There is ample evidence of modified firearms in California that are used on a daily basis for CCW, hunting, and other state sanctioned activities. Consequently, it is highly unlikely that the state would articulate a new interpretation of the law if a CA7 was modified. In conclusion though, our intent is to manufacture and distribute a state certified pistol for use as is. We cannot officially condone modifying the firearm after you buy it.

By the way, it does not appear that single shot pistols, that have not been drop tested, enjoy this same distinction. The state HAS opined that modifying an SSE pistol "may" constitute a violation of law, but luckily, CA7 is a bolt action repeater, so that law would not apply to our certified product.

Yes..shot mine once with the stock upper-that was enough.

My finger hurt less than my son's though because I only ran a few mags through it and said"Yeah-I'm done!"

He insisted on showing my wussy a%s up by doing a "mag dump" and was rewarded with a nice blister.

So the joke was on him.

An Aero 300 Blk upper is much more fun on it.

Bahahaha I did that, too. I even bought a Raptor for it after 25 years of regular old Mil-spec charging handles. That got old in a hurry.

I just received an 11.5" upper. Need to put everything together one of these days.

I think I'll turn the stock upper into 9mm since 8" would be a good length for it.

Since the pistol is on the roster, is it legal for FA to sell just the lower?

No, you have to buy roster guns complete. Same reason why you can't pick up a Glock frame for $50 like everyone else can =(

Would there be something illegal about a folding brace and/or a barrel on a pistol (rostered bolt-action repeater in this case)?

A folding brace is no more legal or illegal on this pistol than on any other pistol.

Of course, the legality of any pistol braces attached to any pistols in CA is the subject of a whole other debate. I personally believe they're legal, but a lot of people don't. You'll just have to make your own call on that. DOJ hasn't given them any attention so far, but that could change any time.

Not sure what you mean about putting a barrel on this pistol. It wouldn't be much of a pistol without a barrel.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Obviously . What I was asking about was if putting a specific kit on it https://foldar.com/product/double-fo...-wylde.2235.56, which includes a complete pistol upper, a folding 9" barrel and a folding brace would make it illegal. Is there a PC that prohibits either (a folding barrel or a folding brace)? I didn't see any, but wanted to get feedback from folks who may have seen something that could prohibit it. Thanks!
