I got my Wilson CQB about 10 years ago. A bit cheaper then. I was doing some training at work and used the extra money for the purchase. Could have afforded it anyway, but the extra money helped justify it. I wanted to get it then for IDPA, USPSA matches.

If you need to finance a car, you cannot afford it.

Not necessarily. If you can afford a decent house outright, you shouldn't finance a luxurious one unless you are reasonably certain it'll appreciate at a higher rate than your loan.

And if you're just starting out in life (or rebuilding from the bottom), it may make sense to finance a decent, reliable car rather than throw time & money away on mass transit or taxi/uber (or buying a cheap, but problematic, used car).

The difference between debt and leverage is that leverage offers a rate of return in excess of the cost of capital. If financing a car allows you to get a job, a second job, or a better job -- it probably fits that bill. But if you're just doing it to obtain something nicer that you really can't afford, that's just debt...

Credit cards profit is in the merchant fees - interest is to offset losses - losses are to offset profits. It’s almost like they try to make money off people anyway they can...

I'll end it here guys. This was all a social experiment. I was curious how people would react to individual(s) who act irresponsibly in this manner. I am not one that spends out of my means and know their are many who do. Was looking to see if I could gauge spending habits of others on this forum.

Anyway, I did buy the Wilson 1911 but the $3k I paid for it is a drop in the bucket. Good to see some people are willing to offer the right advice in this situation.

OP...it is a Wilson...they have instructions ...in the paperwork. No need to disassemble and lube. Can if you want to fondle all the parts...not necessary, at least with my shooter.

Shoot often, lube, repeat....you will enjoy that gun...very nice shooter.
