I shipped my CZ SP-01 to CZCustoms several years ago using FedEx.

It had to be overnite. Cost me about $90+ with insurance.

FedEx also asked me for a copy of CZCustoms FFL.

Are you a USAA member? If so you can buy a FedEx label through USAA’s discount login and get a big discount.

could've saved a few if you didn't disclose it was a firearm and choose their cheapest shipping option. just take apart separate the slide and frame and call it parts. Isn't that how we do it with an AR? separate the lower and upper and its no longer a fire arm?

The receiver/frame is still a firearm.

And, if there were to be some kind of problem, the shipper might reasonably deny an insurance claim on a mis-represented item.

                I've never used USPS.

I knew ups stores could set their own prices. I didn't know a ups hub would also have higher prices than online. Thanks!

As said, that's a benefit of good relationships with the LGS. I pay Priority mail postage and $20.

You might try Cal-Tron Plating in Santa Fe Springs. When I was in the business years ago, our companies would refer customers to each other for specialty type jobs. I don’t remember if cal-tron does hard chrome or not. They do every other type of chrome plating. Fender guitar uses them almost exclusively for decorative chrome and such.

They might be able to refer you to a local hard chromer, but good luck with that in Cali.

when I shipped my lower (Glock) to a FFL in Texas (from CA) for work I used UPS as looking at the USPS site it was a no.

FFL shipped it back via USPS

this was a lower, not a complete pistol

it is still a handgun and USPS can't be legally used to ship it back to a customer directly, but it isn't likely to get noticed unless something happens.

When I spoke to the FFL about servicing the lower they said shipping "gun parts" was OK by USPS. I went to USPS.com to check their policy on shipping guns or parts and my understanding is it was a no which is why I shipped the lower UPS.

The FFL did however ship it back USPS in one of those small Priority Mail boxes.

Others have commented FFL can ship via USPS, IDK. But I did receive my lower back from the FFL via USPS....FWIW
