You weigh significantly more than the gun and will be able to control whatever you choose. Your grip needs to be amazing. Focus a lot on having the perfect grip everytime. John Lovell, Rob Leatham, Rob Pincus, Reid Heinrichs, and Clay Martin all have great advice for grip and shooting.
Where and when will you be carrying? Are you planning on carrying with an extended mag? If so, how much of height difference does that change for comparisons?
How do you dress? Realistically, how much would you adjust your fashion ti keep your carry consistent? Thin material prints easier: silk vs cotton will have a noticeable concealment difference. Patterns will also help.
How well do you shoot? You can't really buy skill. A great shooter will do well with any of the guns being suggested here. Get something that you won't stop practing with (dry and live fire) because it's uncomfortable to shoot.
I'd try out each of the guns you're interested in, and compare 20-30 shots from 5, 10, and 15 yards. No slow fire; maybe keep less than 1.5-2 seconds between rounds.
Consider the sights on each pistol, and if your budget affords sight upgrades.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...
how do you plan on carrying: AIWB, IWB, OWB? The holster you choose will make a big difference.
Since you shoot Glocks, I'd highly recommend looking into the Glock 26.
If your carry gun has a safety, you will need to put in a lot of training, which includes under stress. If you get punched in the face and fall down/back, will you be able to draw and disarm the safety while presenting?Comment

Meh... I've come to believe it's all in the gear and 9 times out of 10 the gun is subjective. Find the right holster that fits your body type with whatever gun you are most competent with (within reason).
A new gun with the same holster design that didn't work with the last is gonna leave you in the same boat.

I have been carrying my Shield everyday for the last four years in a PJ Holsters IWB Kydex holster. I is very comfortable to the point where I sometimes forget that I have it with me. I think that the combination of a light weight guns and super comfortable holster makes this a winner for me.

I will say that I went through various other guns and holsters before I settled on this combination.MLC member.

So you want to get input from people who don't carry a concealed weapon on what would be the most comfortable weapon for you to carry concealed?Originally posted by BLKI know I should post my question in CCW section but I would like to get more opinions from everyone not just CCW users,
I want to add a new gun to my CCW, I carry Glock 19 but I feel too big sometimes. I don’t have much option in CA, SIG P238 2 tones or S&W shield 9mm or 1911 ultra ?
I’m 5’7” 150 lbs , size and weight play a big role for me!
For what it's worth, I don't carry any of the guns you've listed. I have carried both a P238 and a Shield in the past, but I've taken them off my permit. While I do think it's a good idea to include a pocket pistol on your permit for certain occasions when that may be the only feasible choice, I'd recommend learning to carry something bigger on a regular basis. It won't take long until it feels completely natural to you. But what do I know? Maybe those who don't carry can be of more assistance.Last edited by Mayor McRifle; 08-19-2018, 8:26 AM.Anchors Aweigh

Sounds like you have come to realize that the largest you can conceal better suits your needs, as have I. Pocket/mouse guns are out, been down that road just not for me.So you want to get input from people who don't carry a concealed weapon on what would be the most comfortable weapon for you to carry concealed?

I AIWB with midsized doublestacks, they're a breeze to conceal with the right holster setup. Just my preference, to each their own.

I carry a G19 as well as a Shield9. The shield is a good option for CCW. It has a slim profile and is comfortable to carry and shoot. I like it.sigpicComment
