I have the CA safe version.

    My mods:

    Trijicon HD XR sights
    Apex Flush LCI
Apex Trigger Kit with flat trigger face
Removed mag disconnect and sear disconnect

As it is now, it's perfect.

All I've done to mine so far is install a flush LCI. If I decide to carry it, I guess I'll have to put the red fin back on

El Do doesn't allow mods? I thought the SO was fairly liberal in that sense.

I'm looking forward to picking up my shield. I bought the package deal that Turners has offered this spring. I've read nothing but good things about the shield and crimson lazer sights. I like my glock 26, the shield is a little thinner and conceals better....for me.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Not sure what the rules are in El Dorado county regarding mods to CCW

I did the Strike IndustrieS EMP +2 mag extension for my 7 round magazine.

I did the exact same changes/upgrades and I love my shield for EDC.

Increased the magazine capacity to 10 rounds (from the 8 round) with a Magguts kit. For what is possible for CA, it is about perfect - reasonable size, thin, and accurate......

For a holster, I found the Alien Gear Shape Shifter to be really useful. It can be converted from IWB to appendix carry, to OWB.....and a few other modes. Very comfortable.

I love this little weapon. I have the free state model without a thumb safety, magazine disconnect or the LCI. It's my daily carry.

The factory trigger isn't terrible, it just feels cheap. I've been spoiled by the 1911 trigger. I hated it enough to swap it out for the APEX kit. Doesn't even feel like the same gun.

Talon grips are nice if the gun feels slippery.

Every gun I own gets Heinie Straight 8 Ledge night sights. One handed reloads and slide manipulation. Take a class, you'll understand.

Left factory or modified this is a great gun. Have fun...

Very nice! I like those Heine sights, is that also a wider rear notch?

Much of the aftermarket gadgetry out there consists of solutions that are marketed to address non-existent problems. I own and have daily carried several M&P pistols over the years and here is my comprehensive list of "upgrades:"

                            Magazines
                            Ammo
                            Holsters
I generally agree with your line of thinking. The exception is with ‘some’ M&P triggers. I have 4 M&P first gen handguns, including a 2013 made Shield. The Shield and two others have decent stock triggers, don’t feel the need to change or try to improve them. But number 4 a 2014 made full size 45, had the most god awful trigger I’ve ever felt in a duty type handgun. Heavy, gritty and just a chore to try and shoot it well. Even after more then 1000 rounds fired with it there was zero improvement. I really liked everything else about that gun, so it came down to get rid of the gun or attempt to improve the trigger. I bought an Apex trigger and sear for it, put it in and right away night and day difference. Went from one of my least favorite guns to shoot to one of my favorites. I don’t plan on doing the same to my other M&Ps, but for that particular gun it was needed and made a world of difference.
