You can completely disassemble a Glock using a punch or a small screwdriver in a matter of minutes, and you can completely reassemble it the same way.

the safety is all internal “passive” stuff. So you just unholster it and shoot. Other guns require you to decock before reholstering and then have a heavy DA trigger pull, or have a safety that must be engaged before holstering and disengaged before shooting.

It has relatively loose tolerances, which makes it reliable in dirty conditions, not finicky with ammo, and spare parts don’t require fitting. But it does not sacrifice accuracy for loose tolerances.

When you get to AZ rent both the gen 4 and gen 5, and pic the the one you like better.

They are "easy" to shoot but that comes from practice.

Just don't rent a 1911 in 9mm at the same range trip. It will mess you up because of the different grip angle, and the result could be you don't end up buying the glock.

Buy anything you want in your free state as they are 50-75% off on a daily basis in comparison to California. It’s the way I’m going to look at it when I’m out. Glocks are simple don’t over complicate it....

A lot of people say they love Glocks because of how simple they are, can someone explain this? How is a Glock more simple than other handguns?


Also, I plan to purchase a Gen 4 Glock 19 in a few months when I move to AZ. Anything I should know before I buy? (e.g. I've heard some people mention the term, "Glock finger")

Fewer parts = simpler, when compared to other guns.

I like the Gen5 because of the lack of finger grooves. Granted, most will switch the factory sights out. They are still cheap plastic, however the "u notch" rear sight has more air/space in it. The front dot also sits in the u notch better when the sights are aligned. The only reason I see for going Gen5 is if you don't like the finger grooves of previous Gens. Glocks are all great because when you buy one you know the gun will do its job and you'll never have issues finding parts for it (and parts are inexpensive). Can't say they same for all poly pistols, however, there are many great Glock alternatives now. Great time to be a gun owner, especially in a free state.

When you move to AZ, do yourself a big favor and rent a Walther PPQ, HK VP9, CZ P-10C, Canik TP9 and Glock and I am sure you won't pick the Glock after shooting them.

I wanted to get a CZ PCR for carry; however, I've decided on Glock due to the availability of aftermarket items available for them. (e.g. Holsters)

P10C fits any Glock 19 holster. But really, don't buy a gun because of aftermarket parts or holsters. Go shoot them to see which feels better in your hand and is easier to shoot more accurately. Too many people talk about a companies customer service, ease of taking apart and aftermarket parts. If it's a good gun, you won't have to worry about those things.

Glocks get a lot of high praise due to low maintence, easy take down, and being very affordable.

With being said it's not for everyone. I have purchased two glocks in the past to give them a shot, 19 and a 17, but I was never able to shoot well with them. The trigger safety was something I had trouble with and would cause me to shoot high left. So I sold both of them.

What's wrong with the grip angle?

Just my personal opinion on the grip angle, at first i hated it but now i use the extra space on the grip for my non shooting hand to control the gun which pretty much help improve my groupings.
