Does the lock affect the performance at all? I understand having it is like a LCI on a Sig visually.

Hasn't on my S&W 60-18, but I never use it, been unlocked since new.

The Internal Lock has absolutely no affect on performance whatsoever.

First revolver...seriously get a .22, something like a 617. They are so much fun to shoot and you will really learn trigger control firing the DA pull..

King Cobra's aren't that special

I sure wouldn't pay that price for one even if they were collectible like Pythons.

I might recommend the Ruger Six-Series that was discountinued in favor of the GP-Line.

Good, solid, strong revolvers that are starting to become collectible.

I forgot to mention, the ruger sp101 is s also a great gun. Built like a tank, accurate, reliable and nice looking.

Glock, always perfection. Gen3, Gen4 and Gen5 are different but all perfection, all Glock are more accurate than shooter
1911, longevity means perfection, 8 rounds is always enough for 1911 shooter
CZ, all CZs must be sent to CGW or it xxxxs

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I gotta say I am surprised. I really thought most would say to jump on the Colt KC.

Regarding the SW lock, I really don't have an issue. While I would prefer not to have one, my purchase won't exclude because it does have it.

I have looked at a couple Rugers. GP's and an SP and while I think there may be one in my future, I think I'm set on the competitor..... Especially with some Nill grips!

If you see a Colt or an older S&W in the marketplace you need to jump on it as they sell very fast.
