I like that!!i bought the same rigid case and some ebay foam and its not bad.but basically only use it for one gun range sesh and a few hundred rounds of ammo

Nope. It's legal as long as the weapon is unloaded, and the case is locked.

Have locker at range just in case I want more ammo

Small scissors. do not care what the foam looks like. As long as it holds the firearm secure. Can always use double side tape to re-install foam so keep old foam.
