The Danes have an army? That Sig contract should be about 500 units to outfit everyone and have a couple hundred spares. Hope the Dane army isn't in the habit of throwing down their weapons like the French military cause they might be in for a surprise....

Any individual pistol that is over 50 years old is C&R, and C&R pistols are roster exempt. So those of us in the PRK can potentially buy one...but they may not be cheap.

Now a glut of pistols should push prices down, but by how much?

They can. The Polymer80 maintains a 1911 grip angle and uses glock mags.
Glock believes their grip angle is perfection so they aren't changing it until they start losing more money/contracts to their competition.Comment

Keeping in mind that the world's military & leo organizations don't always make the best purchasing decisions the Dane "army" is not my idea of an elite war fighting force, so I remain dubious as to the future success of their choice.
You at least have to concede on some level to the merits of what Glock has done, represented by it's hard earned reputation for reliability and longevity under real world conditions.
If the SIG du jour is = Glock then I believe as time moves on organizations will purchase them by the ton & Glock will have to engage in the design fight.
Either way we consumers win.

Glock's accuracy published on the book "The Accurate Handgun" by GunDigest
Glock 19 / Federal 124gr HST / 3.2in @ 25 Yards
Glock 35 / Federal 165gr Hydra Shock / 3.2 in @ 25 Yards
Glock 17L / 125gr hand load / 1.7 in @ 25 Yards
Sig P320 tested at NRA Shooting illustrated
Sig P320 9mm / Sig Elite 124gr V-Crown / 1.2in @ 25 Yards
I felt "G19 is 4/25, but P320 is 2/25 gun" = professional result + 0.8/25,
so professional shooters will get more accuracy improvement than me.Comment

it is my impression that the "glock haters" are responding to the perception that some number of enthusiasts are "glock fanboys".
which came first is debatable.
some might just be defensive because they run a glock, some might just be trolling because they don't.
it's still funny

That doesn't make Sig a "better" gun than Glock. When a military tests firearms, they have certain requirements that have nothing to do with reliability. Only a fool would think one gun is better because that's the one that was chosen.
I have six Glocks with over 18,000 rounds through them without a malfunction or parts breakage. If I tested six Sigs, I may or may not have the same results. I've also owned several Sigs & never had a malfunction with any of them. The gun that's "better" is the one that fits my hand & has the features I'm looking for.Comment

Unless you have money in the gun companies, who care if some government buys a certain gun from a certain manufacturer. Is your ego tied to your purchases?==================
