Glocks are light and almost slippery. Fit matters a lot. Shootem, cop a feel. 19 has a smaller grip than the 17.Comment

I have neither but always preferred the 19 over the 17. The grip feels better in my hand, I prefer the slightly smaller size of the G19, and the mag compatibility to be able to run the mags from both the G19 and G17.Comment

Glock 19 simply because it shoots just as well as a Glock 17 so why have a bigger pistol when there is really no advantage to it. The 19 takes 17 magazines so it has the same capacity.
I do however love the Glock 22 and 35. I do not like the 23 as much as the 22 and I had a 23 for over a decade. I just think the fullsize is so much better in .40 and the compact is perfect in 9mm.
Next Glock I get will either be a 26, 30, or 36.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 03-31-2018, 10:24 PM.CRPA and NRA member.

It cracks me up that the G19 is so popular in parts of CA where it is impossible to get a carry permit. It makes sense to go with a G19 in free states because there is always the chance you may decide to carry your G19 (assuming you don't carry every day). In the most populated counties of CA, I don't see the point in owning a G19 over a G17. Why purchase the compact when you can't carry it? I'd rather have a full sized grip, no point in comprising the grip if it can't be carried. Makes sense that the G19 is the most popular glock in free state, but in CA it should be the G17.Comment

HD/Rage/Pistol Classes/Competition = G17
Carry/HD = G19, wait most of us here can't carry.
But still people will say get a G19, I blame James Yeager and Hickok 45, they have to remember than we don't all live in a free state.
Also, if I were to carry every day it def wouldn't be a G19, too big compared to a single stack 9 (think shield/ G43), or the new Sig P365. The G19 isn't a great EDC in my opinion, it a great, "just in case I need to conceal" gun.Last edited by lawj11; 04-01-2018, 9:52 AM.Comment

I'm sitting in the third most populated county in the state right now, with a Glock 19 on my hip... hmmmm....
Addressing your other post, I do in fact carry the G19 every day. You carry the gun you want to fight with, not the gun you want to feel pretty and comfortable with. Concealing a G19 is not hard, and with a strong belt the weight is not bad at all.Last edited by tuna quesadilla; 04-01-2018, 10:15 AM.Comment

I just think the G19 is the perfect size all around 9mm combat pistol. Thats why I have a G19 and not a G17. I think the G22 is the perfect size .40 combat pistol. Thats why I sold my G23 and got a used LE G22. The larger size made a difference for me with .40, its much more enjoyable to shoot .40 in my G22 compared to my G23. I like to have more gun to grip with a snappier round. Of course I dont carry so I just choose a gun based on what is more enjoyable to shoot and variety. If I was going to carry I'd look for a single stack 9mm subcompact or a Glock 36.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 04-01-2018, 11:55 AM.CRPA and NRA member.

I'm sorry,,, But there just isn't enough difference in these two guns to make any significant difference.
I have a G35 and a G23 which have the exact same grips as a G17 and G19 and I shoot them interchangeably. I really don't see why any one else can't?
As long as you take the time to get the triggers the same and the sights similar and the Extended Slide Catch and Mag Release you should be able to run either of the guns the same or close. The presentation and sight picture is the same for all these guns.
This all comes from shooting them enough to get good in the first place.
I could even throw my G21SF in the mix and not have a bit of problems.
This is the exact reason why you need to join Front Sight. You can go any time you want and all you have to do to stay proficient is go twice a year. You also need to dry practice frequently, as that keeps your gun handling and trigger control up to speed.

I’m sorry you carry such a large and heavy carry gun, hopefully it isn't your edc. You in Sac county? Get a 43, “ life is good.”You make some very interesting statements.
