After reloading for thirty-six years, I never push a progressive machine to achieve a quantitative result. I think it a disservice to the shooting community to advertise a product based purely on how much ammunition can be produced in a given unit of time. Now, saying that, I run several Dillon reloaders (two SDB's, a pair of 650's, and an older 550), but use them for the convenience of uniformity, not just increased production. They are excellent machines, and the company's CS is above outstanding. Ditto for some others as well. But I don't think beginniners will learn how to recognize problems that they would learn with much more basic equipment.
I would like to know more about what exactly happened to subject Colt product that lead to the critical failure. Could also be a case of some squibs down that barrel before a hot round as well.

The frame is gone and the cylinder is gone. He would probably attract more buyers if he disassembled the gun completely and sold all the parts except the frame. No FFL would be required and he could ship it himself.

The only hard part might be taking the barrel off without mucking it up.

As a tip....I always chose a powder that will fill a case.Makes it very difficult to double charge without catching it. Theres no bullseye in my power stash.

LOL. I've recently spoken with two different calgunners, whom I've never communicated with before, and both of them have brought up that thread and the pompous attitude of the person who started it. Coincidentally, one had an engineering degree and the other one is currently pursuing his.

It has nothing to do with "cheaping out". One can load very high quality ammo with minimal and inexpensive equipment if they have good quality control.
