They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I run my trigger finger against the guard to slow my pull. It's a crutch. We need to pull from higher up even if it seems to rob control.

Great insight and information. Looking forward to gaining more experience with the platform. A good friend has an extra competition trigger set up that he replaced with something else. The trigger face is flat, i'm hoping that will afford me another perspective.

Grateful for the offer, i'm down in San Diego.

I'll post after i trial the new to me trigger...and i'll spend some more time shooting it as well.

G34 has the best stock trigger out of all their models. Having difficult time visualizing how your finger would rub against the trigger guard. How about posting a picture?

              True story.

Some LE departments here even bobbed the hammers on revolvers so their officers couldn't get in trouble with the good SA trigger.

Your hand will never fit the same as another gun, Glocks are made the Glock way. I too have that problem. My trigger finger rides low and rubs the trigger guard. I put a flat face trigger but it gives the same effect only I use more finger. At the end of the day I found that I needed more bridge height for the web of my hand. After I reduced the media on the back of the grip it got my hand higher and I was finally able to get the reach I needed to properly fire the weapon. I also had to undercut the trigger guard. If I were to do it all again I would just have paid the extra for another gun that had all those features from the get go but i I didn't know until after. I have a p10c now and the Glock is gone. I didn't lose money but I certainly didn't make any either. Try those upgrades and report back. Good luck.

I'm new to Glocks but relatively proficient with 1911s and SigSauers.

What's really bugging me is the way my trigger finger rubs on the inner aspect of the trigger guard and lower portion of the trigger face.

I can force my trigger finger up the trigger face, but it is by no means natural or comfortable.

I polished the heck out of the trigger hardware.....and while that helps somewhat with the atrocious pull characteristics, it does not address the finger irritation.

Wondering if others have faced a similar challenge and if there were some credible remedies.

Perhaps its not the right pistol for me but i'd hate to give up on it so quickly without some further effort or insight, thanks.
Yup. Experienced the same thing. Take the trigger out and sand down that inside area of the trigger guard smooth. Clean. Reassemble.

You will still rub, but it will feel much better.

To tell you the truth, I stopped being bothered by it at some point. I don't remember sanding any of mine down, so maybe I started placing my finger on the trigger differently.

The one thing that continues to bug me is the bump on the underside of the trigger guard. That thing is super uncomfortable for me.

By the way, I also just got a G34 not so long ago. Haven't given it any love yet, was thinking of sending it out to WC for their Starburst stippling and undercut, removing that very bump I mentioned before.

I will let you know how it goes if interested.

Glad to hear that the issue is not unique to me and that there are reasonable options to improve or personalize the ergonomics.

I'm a 1911 guy and have shot a few Glocks.

I hate the trigger and the feel of the grips.

It is a plastic fantastic to some.

IMO, most folks that like Glocks want a pistol that runs adequately for their HD purposes.

I am a 1911 guy and it has been the platform I have been used to since I was a teen in the 60's.

                          I like steel guns.

                          Flame on!

                          YMMV.
Not a plastic guy either. I cut my shooting teeth on 2nd and 3rd generation S&W pistols, Berettas, and various 1911s back in the mid-80s. I became proficient with those platforms.

I don't dislike Glocks and even own a couple, they're just not my go-to gun.

Wait a second, am I reading the FUD you hear in the gun store thread?

I like glock triggers just fine. They are not my favorite but i am very proficient with them. It simply takes practice. Switching between glocks, 1911s, sigs, etc. back to back just makes the learning curve take longer.

As for "gun store FUD", I think it's pretty good insight as to the intent of the Glock development.

The triggers on 1911, DA/SA guns in SA mode and just about any revolver in SA mode feel much better to most than just about any striker fired plastic gun. They are no more accurate, but many SA acclimated people can shoot the former more accurately because those guns overcome bad habits like pushing sideways or dragging the trigger on the trigger guard to get a better "feel" of the trigger as it breaks. This can lead to poor follow through and poor groups. I had the same problem and still have to tell myself "pull the trigger straight back and do a straight follow through"

Your statement about "shoot one gun and you'll improve" is spot on. I've had spells of "one handgun on a range trip" for several sessions and my shooting really improved with that gun. The next time I went out with 4 pistols and I immediately found myself with different grip feelings, different finger placement on the triggers and the groups were clearly not as consistent.

It's your choice but if you go out 4-5 times in a row with one gun you will really improve your shooting. If you constantly change guns during a session, you'll be all over the place.

However, once you do gain proficiency and can shoot several guns in a session and retain accuracy, watch out!

I find the glock 19 trigger to get kinda painful after a short time shooting too. After 100 rounds sometimes depending on the load and if I'm shooting other guns at the same time.
1911's seem to be easier to shoot for much longer strings. I wish Glocks came with a smoother trigger face or at least as an option from the factory. Any aftermarket triggers that have good ratings seem to be as much as a decent AR trigger. That's half the price of a new Glock, give or take.
