Help....Hate the Glock Trigger

The G34 has the best factory trigger pull compared to all the other Glocks. If you are looking for a great trigger from a polymer striker fire, you need to check out the Walther PPQ or Q5 Match which is the same as the Canik TP9SFX or try a HK VP9.

I'll try not to be rude, too, but sometimes I am.
I've got SIGs and 1911s, along with Glocks.
I'd suggest shooting the Glock a lot more before considering hardware remedies/changes. What's "a lot"? That'll depend on one's tolerance, patience, and budget.
Not knowing how many rounds, if any, have already been shot, I'll merely put out a number to start, 1000 rounds. Whether 1,000 rounds will actually be needed or not to make a decision, I don't know, but it appears concentrating only on Glocks will be beneficial and not comparing to SIGs and 1911s will be beneficial.

If there's a decision to forget going with Glock or a definite hardware change or product being considered, then folks can better respond.

I'm also unaware of folks with prior complaints about fingers getting rubbed too much at the inside-bottom, of the trigger-guard.

Grip angle?
1911 grip angle: good for OP, index finger moves horizontally
Glock grip angle: index finger moves from lower (rubs guard) to upper

Then don't buy a Glock.

I'm a 1911 guy and have shot a few Glocks.

I hate the trigger and the feel of the grips.

It is a plastic fantastic to some.

IMO, most folks that like Glocks want a pistol that runs adequately for their HD purposes.

I am a 1911 guy and it has been the platform I have been used to since I was a teen in the 60's.

I like steel guns.

I’m a shy younger than you (was a teen in the late 90s), but I grew up shooting vintage guns.

I love 1911s, hi-powers, wheel guns, etc.

I’ve always viewed the Glock as the best compromise ever. They don’t feel or look great, but I’ll be damned if I’m not great with one. Reliable too.

YMMV is the truth. The cool thing about gun preferences is that we are all correct!

Build up a callus on your trigger finger


Same with loading mags, load them and get a dented thumb from pushing round after round into the mag


Glocks are not a 1911

Compared to a 1911/Sig SRT/etc., I find Glock triggers to have the least tactilely pleasing, most mechanically informative actuation I've experienced.

OP, I thought I was the only one to have the problem of abrasion of the side of my trigger finger on the inside of the trigger guard. I feel your pain, and no I don't have "sausage fingers" !

I'm neither a fan or a detractor of Glocks. If I could shoot them without this problem I'd own a few.

Was thinking the same thing as you a few weeks ago and upgraded my trigger recently. If you're by LA you can test out my G34 gen3 with Apex flat trigger and Taran Tactical connector and spring kit.

i'll learn to tolerate the quality of the trigger pull and try to optimize it accordingly. Really appreciate the information.

What i'm primarily hoping to address is the friction/abrasion i'm experiencing as my trigger finger rubs on the lower inner aspect of the trigger guard.

Perhaps a flat trigger face might help? Will review the noted brands/models.

I was wondering if others had experienced the same ergonomics/rubbing.

BMK, wondering what you are currently using (you mentioned that you had used the Overwatch)

You need to undercut the trigger guard. Look it up on YouTube. I did my own. Came out great and works well.

Should have bought a Glock 19. Also, a gun that is 1k$ in price better come with a pretty damn good trigger. SIGs don't.

All Glocks are reliable, doesn't matter on the model.

Are you ever going to be able to have a civilized glock discussion without your autistic screeching ?

I'll add my 2 cents. it's probably no secret to any regulars here that I don't care for glocks especially the triggers. I have only tried the zev and wolf ultimate adjustable trigger. I own the wolf uat and have to say I really like it and it made me much more accurate with my glock. practice and possibly an aftermarket trigger will probably assist your enjoyment. some people never like them. I still don't but I don't hate them like I used to.
