    9mm show down

Looking at purchasing my first hand( 9mm semi auto) I'm leaning towards a cz75 but I'm also considering a Glock 19 or a beretta 92. I'm looking for something that I could eventually use in 3 gun and possibly other competitions down the road.

I have only ever fired the Glock so I have no real experience other then holding them in the store. Opinions? Other possible guns I've over looked in that price range(5-900 ish)?

    Thanks guys

    I dont currently own a Glock ( I dont like them) and I do own a CZ's and Beretta's.

If you are only going to won one gun, get the Glock 19. Its a good gun to train with...east to learn to shoot and no safety's or de-cockers to worry about. Focus on the basics. The G19 is SUPER reliable but so is the Beretta.

TargetMasters in Milpitas should have all three available for rent to compare side by side. Go during the weekday. Not a place to be on the weekends, or nights.

          Get yourself a CZ 75 SP-01 or a Glock 34.

All are ok guns with triggers from average to terrible. If you want to use it as a competition gun without spending another few hundred dollars on fixing looong or mushy triggers, get yourself a 1911.

Get a Glock 34. Does it all and is a great gun to start with.

Try em all and add the CZ SP01 to the list of toys to try. Pick the one that fits you best.

From someone who has owned all 3, I would rank them in this order, best to worst:

                        1. Glock 19/17
                        2. CZ75
                        3. Beretta 92fs

The Glock has a very predictable trigger that will feel the same every pull where the DA/SA pull of the other 2 is hard to get used to. And the Glock trigger only gets better with use (or do a polish job)

of the three, the Glock has the least amount of parts, ease of maintenance

high parts support, more versatile, simplicity of the design

the Glock 34 sounds like a good choice for your needs

the Beretta has lots of small parts and a slide mounted safety, some people say they dont like the safety lever on the slide because it gets in the way while racking the slide in a defense situation.

Next year I plan to get a 92FS.
                              What a classic beauty.
