Single-Stack 9mm Recommendations?

This Officer sized 1911 is not just a favorite single-stack 9mm, it's just simply my favorite gun period.

I love how it shoots, how it looks, how it feels, it's history, design, trigger... I just love everything about it.

If you have not tried shooting one or just holding it in your hands, give it a try, you just might fall in love with it the same way I did.

SIG P220 is on sale at Turners right now in single stack, I was checking it out yesterday.

Maybe it was P226...

P220 and p226 are great but have medium sized grips. They are larger than a CZ75b or a 1911, and much larger than a shield.

The trigger was not the greatest on mine. What I did was polish out the metal on metal contact points.

Trigger did wind up lighter, smoother, and still have that nice positive reset.

Since I didn't actually change the internals of the firearm it is still A-OK to carry.

Similar small hands issue. I have short fingers but my palm and finger width is about avg. M&P shield works well but I honestly don't love it. I won't sell it, but after doing a little work on my p229 I love that more as it fits every part of my hand well.

My favorite pistol is my p229, where I changed to g10 grips which are thinner (the E2 grips are nice and thin as well) and put in a short reach trigger. NOT the SRT trigger. The short reach trigger shaves off part of the trigger so it is thinner and reduced the distance for my finger to reach it. This trigger is used on some Sig pistols standard, you can see the difference looking at pictures. It is amazing if you have shorter fingers.

Also have you tried pistols with different grip sizes? I can't hold a gen3 glock worth a damn, but gen4 changing to the small back straps and it felt great. The m&p compact/fs pistols are the same way.

I have a pps m2, it fits my hand perfect and is a great shooter. Thin and easy to carry as well.

Your not going to find the answer in a forum. All of the options presented are valid and we all have of likes and dislikes.

Find a range that has a large assortment of rentals. Spend the time and money for find the one that fits you.
