They run and run. Ugly? Yes.

        Inexpensive.? Yes.

        Very true.
I always had a stable of .45ACP Glocks, but when I decide to take my two kids to shooting school, it was easier to buy four G-19's (Gen 4), and fifty magazines. With 4K of Tula ball, it was easy to fill magazines every evening in the motel room, and tote them all to the school in a bucket. We had more time to hydrate and gain additional knowledge from the instructors while the other students were stuffing mags. Turned out we didn't need the fourth pistol, as it was just a spare in case of a breakdown, but that never happened.
Those G-19's continue to run, and run, easily digesting the cheapest, dirtiest, and much maligned steel-cased Russian ball ammo.

I have read so many posts about folks having a problem with .45 recoil.

The .45 bullet goes out of a 5" barrel at less than the speed of sound. A 9mm round, unless it is a subsonic round, leaves the barrel at a much faster rate.

Shooting a .45 in a steel 1911 is a piece of cake, and I am 65 years old.

Home invasion ranges are usually less than 7 yards. Do not worry about acquiring the rear sight. Find the muzzle (front sight), point it at center of mass, and pull the trigger. That will do the job. And you won't need more than seven rounds.

            Have a good night.

            Jim

I only have one Glock, a Gen 2 G19. I've had it for many moons, and it is an excellent gun. I take it where I don't want to put my nicer Colts and such in danger, and it never fails me...even after dropping it into a river.

                That's timex btw.

                I don't own a glock anymore. After selling my gen 4 I can't hold a gen 3.

You made the smartest decision you could ever make by buying Glock. It will never, ever come back to bite you.

No one ever brags about buying a Honda Civic, but it often ends up being the car with the most miles in the household. There is something very utilitarian about the g19.

Sorry to hear that, but hey...it's your gun and if you like it, that's all that matters. Enjoy.

Hi. $595 (plus tax, DROS). I think 130 for him to put on and zero the Trijicon HD sites. Orange fiber optic front, Tritium rear.

I just acquired a very nice Wilson Combat. I've been using that for USPSA. I'm sure Mr Wilson would be proud that at least this gun is getting out and getting dirty. But I may begin to use the Glock for USPSA because ... well it's a Glock. Who cares if you ding it. For $20 you can just get a new one, amirite?
