G26 or CW9

Kahr for the win. If you are going for compact and like the kahr trigger then CW9. Glock will always have a bigger resale advantage but that's due to the name and hype.

I am sure you have shot both, preference will be up to you.

G26. Your Shield is close enough to the CW9 to fill the same role.

The larger magazine capacity of the G26 is a good benefit, but I don't enjoy shooting the G26 as much as the shield due to the stubby grip and large hands. It does get much more pleasant with the +1 mag extension, but California doesn't like you having 11 round magazines...

If you want something really interesting, put an Apex trigger, DCAEK, low profile LCI, delete the Magazine disconnect and add TFO sights on your Shield. It completely transforms the gun. (Which is already pretty decent)

You mention not being able to get a CCW, but what exactly is the purpose of this purchase? If carrying it concealed (camping, work, home, etc.) is in the picture, the CW9's slim profile really does make a difference compared to the 26.

G26 and it's not even close. Glock is king.

G26 is my favorite subcompact semi-auto because it lives up to the hype.

Why anyone would buy anything except for Glock is a mystery that still has to be solved.

Kahrs all day at $325 to $350 here in the Market place. Glock is a diff story I am thinking you are in the $500 range but.....

The Glock is indestructible, but it doesn't suit everyone. If you don't already have a Glock, that would be a good reason in and of itself to buy one. I never shot the Kahr, so my opinion is less informed than those that have. In the end, buying almost any gun is a great choice.

Riflegear has the CW9 on sale for 299.99. Proforce has standard gen 3 g26,19 and 17's for 399.99.

But I think I'm gonna spend the extra money and get the G26 OD.

Thanks for the info, but my Shield is off roster. Thought about the apex trigger tho.

I wouldn't call the G26 'small' - it's a pretty chunky little thing. Now, the Kahr series can get small, but they get to the point where they can be difficult for some to handle. S&W Shield is small and shootable to me.

I have owned the Kahr PM9, CW9, G26 and the Shield.
For CCW, the Shield can't be beat.
For non CCW, I'd get the G26 or even better the G19.
