Wow! That's a nice looking pistol. Thank you for posting the photo. I'll call around tomorrow and see who has one in stock for me to check it out.

Yes, While I'm a big 1911 fan.......my next .45 will be a 97 exactly like that. Very sexy!

I am a Colt guy but I do admire the Sig P220 and to a lesser degree the H&K. All others pale in comparison.

"Emblazoned on the side" seems pretty clear to me, but here's a picture:

My gen 3 Glock 21SF made me a Glock fan. I bought it because it was cheaper and simpler than a 1911 and had a reputation for reliablity. I was always pretty neutral towards Glocks but it has really grown on me.

I like the HK Expert but for the same price you can get a Glock 21sf, upgrade the sights, some extra mags and a case of ammo.

Yeah, you can do all that to a Glock but it will never shoot as accurately as the Expert. Waste of money upgrading if you asked me.

Just a reminder that Springfield is running their promo so if you do get the XD45 (or a 1911 which is the correct choice), you'll get a bunch of goodies with it.

I miss the 4506. For steel I would go P220, for tuperware, a Block 21sf

Couldn't have said this better. IMO, 1911s become worthwhile over 1500 which is above OPs budget. Glock will function but have issues with cracking and bending, especially if you shoot a lot and get the frame hot.
