So, do you actually want opinions on sub-$1,000, non-1911 pistols, or do you want input solely on the HK USP Expert?

I did check the HK expert and like it but I thought I ask if something else out there before I pull the trigger. I'm going to check out the CZ.

Btw, as far as my 3 responses, I'm not glued on this site or computer all day.

Honestly the Sig and CZ will need trigger jobs. But you said $1K!

Just want to separate steel vs. Aluminum because I prefer steel over aluminum.

Give or take at around $1,000 range, I would get the following:

HK USP Expert or Elite if you want polymer

CZ 97B with some Cajun Gun Work mods if you want all metal

If you can get your hands on a Sar K2 45, this might be the best bang for the buck but it is not on the CA roster.

I have one of the II's in 9mm.

Been waiting for aftermarket parts for a Model III in .45 to come out. Stock grips are Aggghhh!

I have both the Sig P220 and the Glock 21sf. The Glock feels lower recoil to me. Think the polymer helps absorb some of the recoil. The Sig is a beautiful pistol but truthfully, I enjoy the shooting the Glock more.
