Yup! First mod out of the box for us. Did the tiny LCI option. Still sticks up a smidgen with a round in the chamber. It's not obnoxious like the Jack-in-the-box version that comes from the factory. It's like the one on the Springfield XD lineup. Easy. IMHO, I'd rather have the CA version with the mod vs the non-CA version with the billboard on the RH side of the slide.

The magazine disconnect bothers me a lot.

There was recently a robbery where during the struggle, the mag release was hit and the mag dropped free. Robber put the gun to the business owner's head and pulled the trigger.

In this case, it worked out for the best, but that story could just as easily have been:
There was recently a robbery where during the struggle, the mag release was hit and the mag popped free. Robber's partner drew a gun, the business owner attempted to shoot, but his gun didn't fire and he was killed.

Full disclosure, the above gun was a Glock with a 30rd mag, so the failure to fire was likely failure to properly chamber before going into the business, but the story could very easily have been a very different situation.

Yup, I hear ya on the mag disconnect. That is also somewhat easily defeatable. Haven't done it yet though. IMHO I'd rather that and gunsmith a few parts vs paying the off roster premium.

The only reason I have not disabled it is because, while my IA does not prohibit modifications, they do politely request that we not disable any factory safeties.

Unfortunately, we don't have to make any such concessions as our county will not issue.

Low and left is the guns fault? I love my Shield. It's the carpenter not the hammer. Let me ask you this, how many times did it FTFeed or Fire? That's what I thought.

My mags drop out of the magwell really well...they sort of shoot out. On my glock 19 however they are kind of lazy to come out. My next modification will be to remove the mag disconnect it looks really easy and as others have said youtube videos are available to help guide you.
