Shield M&P9 sucks?

two of my brothers ordered them because of the rebate so they paid about 400 otd and finally got to try them out just recently. All i gotta say is "you get what you pay for". What i mean is that it feels really cheap and man thats the worst trigger i've ever played with. It actually created discomfort in my trigger finger because of all the recoil and no where to go except to your finger lol

i guess i cant completely bash it because my first 10 shots were in a 1" group at 21 feet. but it was not FUN to shoot at all

Honestly to all the new and old shield owners, do you honestly love it? is it mainly for carry purposes and not a range toy? because i could see that being the main purpose for this gun and i'll take back all the negatives if this is what you bought it for.

Yes, I like mine a lot. I like the trigger, I was surprisingly pleased with it. I shoot well with it too. Feels well made to me and easy to carry concealed. Good ergos too. Very happy with it.

Sucks? I wouldn't go that far, but agree that the triggers (all M&P's) need worked over to make them smooth.

That's like buying a Glock 43 because it's "fun" to shoot (it's not). The Shield is a great subcompact for carry.

The Shield is obviously meant for carry...not a range toy. It's like complaining that a J frame Airweight is not a range toy. It was designed for a specific purpose. Sorry you're booger hook got a boo boo though. Have your mommy give it a kiss for you, then carry on soldier.

Sounds like you should stick with 22's so you don't hurt yourself.

As for the trigger, its not the best but also not as bad as you make it sound. The Apex trigger is the #1 upgrade for the shield unless you have a CCW and your IA does not allow modifications.

As soon a so found out I wasn't gonna CCW, I got rid of my shield. To me it was a purely for CCW. Even had the upgraded trigger and sights and still didn't care for it.

1" group at 21yds with the worst trigger ever? Hmm... it dont make no sense. Guess it cant be that bad. Usually the trigger has the biggest impact on accuracy.

Personally i dont mind the factory trigger, my advice to shooters that blame triggers is to master a double action revolver trigger pul, everything in comparison to that is elementary.

My shield 40 works just fine for what it is.
