Glock Problem

I've owned 5 Glocks (got rid of one of them now) and never had this issue. Could maybe be the wrong gen magazine or something? IIRC 41 is always Gen4?

Yes, another fellow and I had this problem. He has a G41. I have a G30Gen4.

The cure was replacing the mag catch spring, mag catch, and the mags. The mag catch spring, even though it worked if installed in other Glocks, was slightly bent and may have had insufficient strength, tension, whatever the correct terms are for a torsion-type spring.

The spring caused excessive wear on the mag catch and the notches of the mags. It got to the point the mags could actually be pulled free by hand. When shooting, the mags would immediately fall out on the first round.

Now, if I ever work on the mag catches and mag catch springs in Glocks, I pull the entire spring rod out instead of just bending it out of the way (as I was originally taught in Glock Armorers school) as I'm now afraid of over-bending these springs.

Just in case... Are you overgripping the grip and unknowingly squeezing the mag release?

If your booger hooks are hitting the magazine release and causing the magazine to drop,

when I hold the pistol, I do not touch the mag release. My friend had the same issue with the same pistol.

It had never happened to me for shooting over 40 years, and I have fried over 1,000 different guns.

I didn't have this problem with other Glocks even with extended mag release. I guess I will try with a new mag release.

I figured out why my G-29 was acting funny, still shoot's, a cracked block and trigger pin, last pin was just bent, not broken.

My Glock problem is I don't have as many as I want.

Ouch. I preemptively replaced my pins in my 29 with stainless versions, hopefully that helps (though the polymer ones looked fine when I pulled them out). I'll keep an eye on my block

I bet the cracked block is due to shooting full-power loads with the factory 16lb recoil spring. I experienced some serious slide battering problems until I upgraded to a 21lb spring, now it runs great.

The Glock is designed so that softer things which can be replaced wear out before the harder things - which are either more expensive, or cannot be replaced.

Does the 41 have the extended magazine release? If so, I know a lot of folks in uspsa complain that the extended release causes them to unintentionally drop mags. Personally I love em, and switched out my glock 22 to have one.

It has the regular Gen4 mag release.

Remember to slam in then pull your mag when you insert it. Should be muscle memory.

I'd look at this. My first time out at a steel shoot I dropped a mag off my first shot for not ramming it home. This was a well used G23 with new gen 4 mags that were still tight. Needless to say I was humbled.

Worst part is my wife took video and threatens me with it when I get cocky.

Has anyone had a problem with their Glock that when you fire, the magazine pops out? I bought a used Glock 41 and every time I fire, the magazine pops out. I only tried one magazine so far, because I took only one magazine to the range.

I ordered and received a new Vickers Tactical magazine catch. I will have to install and now try with all the magazines that I have.

I have a few Glocks and this was the first time that this happened.

Gen 3 ? Like the Gen4 better for big bore Glocks. They seem to hold up better
