Just make sure the ammo does not over penetrate the walls and go right through striking somebody else. That's a whole lot of gun for home defense. And remember, if you ever use it for that the police will come and take it. It'll be a long time before you ever see it again.

So a standard pressure .45 is to much for home defense? What do you use a .22lr? If you are worried you should also not consider 9mm or any other common caliber.

Dunno, I range-shoot 97% of the time with two hands controlling my weapon and recoil.....but when home SHTF comes, I'm supposed to go ape-style and hang one arm high-n-outside, while I try to shoot with an adrenaline-infused one hand and save my life?

We aren't talking about clearing a 4-story apartment building....

I think a flash burst of light in one's eyes and he can't tell exactly where you are holding.

I don't believe in HD weapons without lights, when the power goes out you don't want to be fumbling in the dark searching for a flashlight, as this will now be my 2nd backup 1911 I decided to add the rail. The rail comes off in about 3 seconds also for those times that you want the classic look and feel.

Home defense distances, bird shot. Almost zero chance of killing someone outside your house, but more than enough energy to stop a threat inside your home.

With modern lights, you can point the muzzle down at a ready position and still can clearly identify the person in front of you.

2. Baseboard lighting
3. 350+ lumens WITH a good lens/reflector design

Carpet eats alot of bounce so test in your home regarding floor bounce illumination

Well you asked so, I prefer the before gun to the added rail and light. My house contains enough illumination in various areas that I don't need to have a light on my weapon. For me, I'm standing at the head of the stairs and waiting for the worst to arrive below me in the low light of the night. If I have to go downstairs I can turn on some of those lights from upstairs.
