Kahr CM9 vs Shield

I didn't have much of a learning curve with my CW9 when I had it. The trigger pull WAS long, but it was just so buttery smooth that I adapted pretty quickly. But, yeah, there is that 200-250 round break in period. Then there is the issue of the inability of the gun to slingshot the first round into the chamber (not sure if any other Kahrs are like this)-an oddity more than a problem. I'd buy another!
Both my MK9 and Shield never had "break in" issues and just ran, both have had at least 1k rounds a piece without malfunction unlike some Glock 43s. The shield won out in the end due to lighter weight, higher capacity magazines and much cheaper mags.

I have read reports of people having problems with them, but have no first hand experience with it. Every manufacturer puts out a lemon or two from time to time, I believe there are way to many happy owners to condemn Kahr with making a bad product.
I will say they can be temperamental, it's in the design. I know with mine, the mags do not always drop free, the slide lock lever must be used to feed a round. Sling shot method will almost always cause a failure to feed malfunction with the round nosediving. I don't know if this is the case with all models.
I bout mine as a BUG, deep concealment gun. I always carry with a round in the chamber and although I carry a spare mag it is not exactly gonna be accessed quickly. It works more then fine for my purpose with the gun, the size and it's reliability with 9mm fire power is why I keep it.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

I had a CM 9 and ended up selling it. I don't shoot revolvers much so the trigger was a no go for me. I know I could have trained through it, but I honestly didn't want to.Yes, I have Shields...... 9mm and 45, and have not looked back.
That's not saying it wasn't a good gun, it just wasn't for me.....Comment

Not a big fan of Kahrs. A CW9 was my first carry gun, still on my permit. But the long trigger pull isn't my cup of tea. I much prefer my Shield and Glock. I find the typical striker triggers more predictable and like the shorter pull.
Nothing wrong with the Kahr, I'm sure the P series and the metal frame guns are nicer, but I know the trigger is the same.Comment
