Glocks becoming irrelevant?

hello all, Before you start flaming me, I am not a Glock fan boy but I do like them.

I was watching a video from "TheYankeemarshal" and he talks about why Glock filed a lawsuit for losing the contract to the US Army over the SIG P320. He said something that made me think about Glock. He states that Glocks are becoming irrelevant because they don't change very much, and I am starting to agree with him. Glock made little changes from generation to generations, but I do understand that they want to keep the handguns simple; but they can make changes such as putting on better sights, make a full 1913 picatinny rails, a better trigger shoe are some of the changes. I thought it was interesting.

I am NOT a Glock Fan Boy, I only own Sig's but I have a few AK's! They are very solid guns. It just came down to $$$$$$!

the whole point of the glock nowadays is you can easily make it yours in any budget. it's simple reliable and well designed. I don't think it gets any more relevant than that.

Regardless of what he said, GLOCK is still selling plenty of handguns even with those slight minor changes through generations. Even though they lost the Army contract, they still make boat loads off the civilian market.
I wouldn't say they're irrelevant at all. I'm by no means a GLOCK fanatic myself but considering how much success they still have, that's a pretty bold statement being made. No point in changing the formula if it ain't broken and it's still working for the company.

They're simple and cost less than their other counterparts, yet effective and efficient designs. They're not for everyone, but what gun truly is? In the end of it all, it gets the job done 99.99% of the time.

I think Glock will be fine. Just look at how they managed to turn a marketing phrase into something civilian customers spout as fact of their superiority based on circular reasoning that people don't even realize as such anymore. It's like people referencing the Bible itself for why the Bible is true. "It's Glock perfection man.." ..why? "Because Glock says so."

They also have a knack for scapegoating mid-high level employees to get away with shady business practices and tax evasion, and they've been pretty ...sigh... Bulletproof throughout their entire history.

Style changes? Can you even keep up with the differences in all the cosmetics with all of the cars in the last five or more years??

We are not talking style changes in pistols here. We are talking mechanical differences.

You might like Glocks or any of the plastic fantastics, but I am old school and have used 1911 .45 and .38 Super pistols for over two decades.

You might want to educate yourself about 1911 pistols before you decide that the newest plastic crap is the best.

Your call, but I feel bad for you Kalifornikates when it comes to Glocks.

I sold all my 1911s, Beretta 92, Browning High Powers and now only own 3 GLOCKS, all in 9mm. I just bought the 3rd one a few weeks ago. They're super accurate - they have a low bore axis like the 1911 which I really like. They never fail to feed or fire and they're easy as hell for a lazy man to clean. I don't know what else you want in a gun? I didn't become a "fanboy" right away but when I went for my CCW I realized how serious carrying a gun everyday is.
