How do you guys feel about Alumagrips?

I have a few of their grips and they are good. Hogue also makes some good aluminum grips. However, I still prefer VZ and especially like the "super scoop" thumb notch option.

110% cosmetic. They feel fantastic. They even look good. I'd just prefer some black grips for a little black on black.

Purchased my first 1911 and wasn't a huge fan of the wood grips that it came with. Want to switch up to something black. Something with a nice grip, but not too aggressive. I see options for thin grips, standard grips, etc. so I'm looking for insight. I see a lot of positives about VZ/G10 grips. Any feedback is appreciated.

VZ Operator II's for a black TRP look. They're pretty grippy though.

OP, you mentioned thin grips. For you to use those you would have to replace grip screw bushings to low profile ones, screws as well.

OP, bear in mind that the grip bushings on the Pros are very difficult to remove by design as they are held in place by high temp loctite- so use the appropriate technique to remove them.

If you force it incorrectly will result in damage to the bushings and possibly your frame

Actually, you would have if you tried to buy them. VZ does a good job informing anyone who tries to buy their thin grips.

Well, I have an old AMT Hardballer with Pachmayer rubber grips.

It does not get much better than this.
