That is an awesome selection for a first 1911. My first was a Springfield Loaded in stainless steel. Beautiful handgun but to be honest, I really wanted a TRP

I actually meet a lot of people who tell me they'd prefer to have a loaded over a TRP. Everyone has their preference. A few of my friends told me they thought I made a mistake buying the Pro over the TRP because it was a novelty gun and not a practical range gun.

I told them they just haven't felt its greatness yet, ha.

My first 1911 was a Dan Wesson Specialist, and my second was the Pro railed model. Kind of wish I started with the Pro. Awesome 1st 1911 Op congrats!

So I didn't realize the Pro came with 6 springfield magazines. LOL

I mean I've never bought a pistol that came with more than 2.

That being said, I was initially going to order some Wilson Combat magazines.

I'm not sure I need anymore mags right now if the SA's are good quality.

          Any insight about these mags?

I've never even held a Pro but I'm sure it will be amazing. Congrats.

First gun I ever bought was a SW1911- I love that 1911- has never choked once on any type of ammo past 8 years.

It shoots light out-- but then I bought a Wilson Combat CQB and SA half rail TRP-- and even though the TRP is still sitting in brand new box for past 2 years-- can just tell on both Wilson and the TRP how there is no play in the trigger, much more audible and crisp safety click, just everything about them is way beyond my SW1911.

That being said, I still do love my SW1911, I just never realized how much better a higher end 1911 would feel. But Sw1911 still great and use as bedside HD gun.

And yes, as my first handgun ever, I did put an idiot scratch on it at the first trip to the range, but I don't care- keeping it for rest of my life.

My 1911's have all been just as reliable as my HK's, M&Ps, Glocks etc.My 30 CMC Power mags have worked well over the years. Find a mag that works the best and stack em deep. I'd love a Pro.

Great score for your first 1911. I don't know what it is about them, but for me they have always been "THE" gun. I first held a 1911 in the Navy 43 years ago. In college I got into steel and IPSC shooting. Only choice for me was a 1911. Got a Randall stainless steel. It was an honest shooting gun and I learned a lot about working on them with it.

After college I did some recreational shooting and as often happens, time slips away. Sold my guns and sort of did other things for a long time.

Now, I got the bug again, and the natural, and only, choice for me was a 1911. Something about them just feels right in my hand. I've got 7 days to go before getting my SA Loaded Target in SS. Counting the minutes!!

So congrats again, you started very near the top and you're going to love the view from there!!

I have the six Pro mags that came with mine still. I use them every once in a while but I generally use my WC mags. No real reason why I guess, I just really like my WC mags.

I submitted my info for the 4 mag giveaway yesterday so I'll have a nice pile of them. Still think I'd like to order a WC and maybe even a CM power mag to see how they compare.
